The tea party is more comparable to Mussolini's fascist supporters. Both were often armed militiamen who supported a radical nationalist ideology and wanted to overthrow the democratically elected government in order to place their ideologues in power.
Both supported war, conquest, wealth inequality, and at least would allow their leader to abolish trade unions, create a council of corporations to control affairs, ban worker protests, etc.
Why is this video playing the German national anthem? Is this moron also implying that all Germans are also Nazis? Funny they pretend to be against a group labeled with fascist ideals and yet they insult almost 82 million people because of the country they come from.
The tea party didn't really get fired up until Obama got elected. They didn't give fuck one when Bush spent trillions of dollars on unjust wars and fucked us with the patriot act. They got wound up when a black got elected president. If they wanted less tax and smaller government then they wouldn't have supported wars, wouldn't care if gays get married, wouldn't want more troops on the mexican border, and wouldn't support stupid, draconian drug laws but they do support these things. Full of shit
@Washu1973 Godwin's Law only says a comparison is inevitable, it says nothing about the rightness or wrongness of such. In this case, the comparison is appropriate.
I've got an idea.... let's make up ridiculous affiliations and assign them them to those who disagree with us...
YOU WANT TO ENFORCE IMMIGRATION POLICY? YOU must be a fascist racist Nazi!!!!
YOU WANT A NATIONLIZED HEALTH CARE POLICY?YOU must be a commie!!!!
This bullshit from both sides DOES NOTHING to help any sort of conversation. The more I see from both sides though the more I'm convinced both sides are full of unthinking dip shits who need a course in logic.
@TriangleChoke96 I have already stated in other posts the marked similarities between the TP and Nazi movements. Both are populist, right wing extremist groups led by demagogues making outrageous claims and inciting their followers to violence. It's not an outrageous stretch to draw a connection between the two.
@TriangleChoke96 Yes, I use hyperbole to get a point across - but symbols make powerful messages, and the stronger the symbol the better. The picture of Lauren Valle's head getting stomped and the label Nazi will do far more to deter the average sheeple from voting TP than an honest and reasonable discourse. We've tried that for the last 2 years and have gotten shouted down by crazies with sound bytes. It's time to do a little shouting ourselves.
@dmkavidelly Thanks! Lol true, it does seem to evoke Godwin's rule, however, since the Teabaggers have been shouting "Nazi" and "Commie!" in the same breath, I felt it was important to put things in the proper context:
The Nazi Party: a populist, right wing extremist group led by demagogues making outrageous claims and inciting their followers to violence.

@wulfric82 The TP isn't extreme. Stupid and misguided but not extreme. Nore does the TP advocate Corporatist policies and a centralized state (quite the opposite actually), the definition of fascism.
The TP is many things but Nazis they're not. This is a Godwin, plane and simple.
@dmkavidelly The TP claims to advocate small government - BUT they favor the police state immigration policies of Arizona, they are all voting Republican, the party which gave us the Patriot Act and brought about more Federal Expansion than the Democrats ever have.
The TP is funded by the Multi-billionaire Koch Foundation, as well as Billionaire corporate assholes Robert Rowling, Trevor Rees-Jones, and Rupert Murdoch. They aim to get rid of gov regulation, to allow them to do whatever they want.
@wulfric82 The AZ law simply makes Fed law state law as well. As for voting Repub, no. They vote TP and use the Repub label because the (R) will gets stupid party-line voters to vote for them. Don't confuse the TP with the GOP.
Well ya, they're puppets (Stupid and misguided, remember?) but they don't advocate that stuff themselves, they just get fooled into supporting those policies/people by proxy.
