Yours is a very erudite and sensible explanation of Zoroastrianism. I, being a practising Zoroastrian can understand and appreciate what you are saying. I have also been to Iran as a surgeon in 1972 to 1979. I found Iran a very up and coming country under the late Shah.
One can still see the remnants of Zoroastrian customs viz, offering fire, sprinling of rose water and ofcourse the Nowruz celebration.

zoroastrims was imposed to the persian people, too. even, zoroaster wasnt persian. he was bactrian. he never spoke in parsi. his mother tongue was avestic (eastern iranic language).
