Hey Daimon, I'm a greek guy too, but I'm quite embarassed but what we did last 2400 years. I only appreciate presocratic thinkers and all the pre-400 BC. greek world (except Epicurus which I admire)
There is a welth of scholerly work on why Greece & Athens produced the rare bloom of philosophical thought that we see in the 4th century BCE, so to claim it has been lost is a bit of an exaggeration. There is a chance that we may recover a lot of lost works from projects such as the Oxyrhynchon archive and the recent finding of several palimpsests that we now have the technology to read. The recent past looked dim for the Classics, but the future looks brighter, even if we students do not!
My class is currently analyzing the Significance of the Greeks and have read Edith Hamilton's articles "The religion of the greeks" and "the idea of tragedy". My school is known for students who strive to become independent thinkers and intellectuals, and if you ever decide to visit the Monterey Bay in California, I invite you to also visit our school. It would be a fascinating experience to hear from someone with so much knowledge about the Greeks and Edith Hamilton's work.

These videos are completely empty. You're only name-dropping and underlining introductory comments - the type in the first paragraph of a textbook.
You don't seem to be trying to "educate" people, but instead trying to impress your values on the uneducated without any justification.
The GREEK GENIUS! The BIRTH OF THE INTELLECT! ... give me a break.

Yesterday is was a theory on the etymology of the word "Democracy", today it was the insight about the best of Greece probably being lost.
One good fact a day. Thanks.

I apologize for the rough skip in continuity around 1:45... inevitable editing on a low budget.
