  • that drum beat is awesome

  • Ian, what have you do with your life man?

you should kill yourself after minor threat. fugazi was quite well, but this? i don´t understand.

resist the new world order people!!

  • @Licomotion This may not be your idea of "punk rock", but that doesn't mean you have to make comments telling Ian to kill himself. You clearly don't understand what the kind of music Ian makes is about, and while that's perfectly fine, it doesn't make it right to post negative shit like that. If you don't have something positive to say to help this incredible genre progress, move on to another video. Ian's a great, hard working punk, but people like you almost make his work meaningless.

  • @Licomotion I smell hipster.

  • Ian Mckaye is a black sheep hi is out to step.

  • 素敵 Big fan :)

  • is this chick from beauty pill?

  • @dvzqz87 no. its the drummer from the warmers. i think your thinking of Basla Andolsun. however both are fantastic musicians

  • Ian MacKaye is a cool human.

  • its not punk rock or indie rock... its The Evens. duhh.

  • Awesome, i love all works of Ian Mackaye.

  • why would people get upset if it said it was indie rock? I think if you are going to classify it.. you should classify it correctly.. jeez

  • this music is so simple! and yet it's really good!

  • and this easily melts into "Southern Cross" by Crosby Stills & Nash

  • Wow...that was so good.

  • @earthgerl does it matter? last time I checked, people are allowed to do anything they want with their music. I love minor threat, fugazi, and this too. I'd rather see ian mackaye do things like this than covering his old minor threat songs with a different band. Well idk if he played those old songs, id definitely go see him live, no questions asked. But I enjoy this too

  • THis isnt "Punk Rock" its Indie rock..

  • @earthgerl Ya know, it's twats like you that complicate music by putting them into sub-genres and labels. IT'S MUSIC, ENJOY IT FUCKER

  • @earthgerl label my ass :)

  • How do they manage to stay so still thru the entire song?

    amazing indeed

  • amazing....all there is to say

  • How could anyone be anything but in love with this song? It’s by a wife and husband, the latter who has been in 2 of the most righteous rock and roll bands of all time, singing choruses about the importance of community with beautifully 'take it or leave it' verses that echo symbolist poets long forgotten by anyone who wasn’t Patti Smith or Dylan. Its fucking beautiful and a wonderful addition to the admirable Discord Records discography. Support local business. Peace.

  • Why is the song on here twice?

  • To all the people calling lame on this, I can only imagine that you're expecting M.T. type anger-snarling... people get older and express their anger in different ways. BTW, I will say anything Ian is playing in is punk rock, there's few who embody what punk is more than Ian.

I hate to bring up that "other" guy/girl group, but this destroys them. The girl in that other band should take lessons from Amy!

  • @imshippyupup I'm honestly not sure if you're being sarcastic or not, But what you just wrote is probably the most narrow minded thing I have ever heard. He didn't betray the punk movement, Punk died, this is him moving on and living life, you should try it sometime.

  • @jmzdun Yes I was being completely sarcastic, defending Ian to the hilt. That man's lyrics and music brought me out of a pit of despair. You are too thin skinned my friend.

  • @imshippyupup You obviously haven't taken the fact sarcasm doesn't work through text into count.

  • @imshippyupup Misspelling Ignoramus to contain the word anus. Very smart. Even for a 34 year old, I just hope you don't lose too much sleep coming up with cheap insults and lame attempts at philosophy, Oh and by the way, Ignoramus? Honestly? It would seem you're the ignoramus here. Seeing as I, in the first place, was defending Ian against a possible narrow minded comment. Think further into what you're about to call someone, just to make sure you don't look like a total hypocrite next time.

  • @imshippyupup Removing all evidence, wow, I thought you were just a regular ignoramus, but it turns out you're also a coward, Congratulations. Nice one. Using the american stereotype of an Irish person to insult me, this almost tops your 'word jokes', Let me try! Have a hamburger and bomb the fuck out of some malnourished Arabian country. Puns work very, very well through text. Sarcasm on the other hand is different, It seems I must explain this to you.

  • @imshippyupup Saying No, not at all, seems very, straight forward if read without what its referring to, however, if "No, not at all" was referring to the question "does 2+2 equal 4?" Ta da! Sarcasm is born. If this imaginary conversation was in person, and not through text or written word, it would be quite clear sarcasm was intended even without hearing the "question", Therefore sarcasm does not work too well through text. See how that works?

  • @imshippyupup Third and final phase; Acting dumb. I win. Fuck off and get a life, instead of arguing online with 17 year olds.

  • @jmzdun Third and final phase of what? Your arbitrary standard? Per getting a life, apparently your parents didn't show you how to think critically before you start acting like a big fish in a little pond. You came at me first sans facts and with judgment. But really I'm assuming you're the age you just posted. You're probably a nasty ass punk twice my age trolling for girls. Telling them how what you feel for them can't be expressed through text so you have to meet them. Creep.

  • @imshippyupup Trolling for girls? You've got quite the imagination if you got all that from me talking to you over an Evens song. Seriously man, read over what you just sent me. Completely irrelevant. If you wanted to insult me you should have just left it with, You're probably a nasty ass punk twice my age trolling for girls. The added, Telling them how what you feel for them can't be expressed through text so you have to meet them. Makes it look like you have some kind of mental pressure

  • @jmzdun Those are your words and your concept you pathetic little prick. I guess I hit a nerve.

  • @imshippyupup Causing you to spew out you're "plan to get laid"

  • @imshippyupup From the way you just posted three comments in less than a minute, it looks like youre the one who has had a nerve hit Mon frere, Bit of a twitch out? Tip; Avoid eBay, another nerve tap like that one and you could be stuck with the winning bid for a $1000 jacket and broken thumb.

  • @jmzdun Right. It musn't be the fact that I have a frontal lobe and can type a response quickly.

  • @imshippyupup You know, this has gone completely off subject, sorry for reducing you to use "pedophile" jokes. Lets just agree Ian is an Inspiration, and this song is so, so mellow.

  • @jmzdun "I win" You do win. Congratulations.

  • this guy hasn't moved the whole song, wtf

  • i wouldn't call the Evens a punk groups, Fugazi and the Warmers are(were) but this is more alternative.

  • @yamon98 They're all just labels. It's music.

  • very very great! I am a big Ian Mackaye fan and these song reminds me on something on the graceland LP from Paul Simon, also a great album.

  • ... hearing tracks like this force me to relax, great concept

  • the evens are classy, really love what they do

  • Not my favorite Ian song, but still better than 99% than radio songs.

  • @WorthyFox

    I´m Sorry for you

  • this has bothered me for ever. Someone explain his guitar to me. Does it have like two bass strings on it or what idk im so confused.

  • @Cpost01 It's one of two things. He is either tuned down, or he has a delay and pitch shifter pedal.

  • @Cpost01 the effect might be there to but its a Baritone guitar

  • @Cpost01 Its a Barritone guitar

  • is Ian wearing a sweater over a sweatshirt? Must be very cold in there.

  • @ZRN959 looking out the window it looks pretty frosty

  • idk what it is with ian all his bands or projects are good. guys got tallent no madder what hes doing
