  • @dourmatproductions For Freedom for Old America

  • Ron Fucking Paul 2012!

  • Freedom is dying in america.

  • Imagine that,on an advertisement in spain, while a man is reciting the poem "If" by Rudyard Kipling. Amazing.

    Greets from Spain

  • Great, great movie very said and patriotic ending.

  • I used to play History Channel's Civil War: A Nation Divided and this is it's main theme. So when I saw the movie I was like hey it's that cool song lol.

  • May God have mercy on our forebearers for not doing more to stop the scourge of war. It serves no purpose but to destroy. It destroys lives of all who are involved, the innocent, the guilty, the just and the unjust alike. The Civil War (War Between the States) was an unjust and unnecessary war and the fact we could not end slavery without resorting to bloodshed will forever be a stain on our society.

  • @BrooklynRedLeg amen.

  • Roberts Father was proud that his son was placed in the same grave with the rest of the 54th.... That is all.

  • I found out a while back that I'm related to Confederate colonel John S. Mosby. aka

"The Gray Ghost of the Confederacy" Yall should look him up. He was pretty beast.

  • Although efforts were made to recover Shaw's body (which had been stripped and robbed prior to burial), Shaw's father publicly proclaimed that he was proud to know that his son was interred with his troops, befitting his role as a soldier and a crusader for social justice.

  • The victorious Confederates buried him in a mass grave with many of his men, an act they intended as an insult. Following the battle, commanding Confederate General Johnson Hagood returned the bodies of the other Union officers who had died, but left Shaw's where it was. Hagood informed a captured Union surgeon that "had he been in command of white troops, I should have given him an honorable burial; as it is, I shall bury him in the common trench with the negroes that fell with him."

  • Powerful!

  • I really agree with Morgan Freeman in the fact that this is a great movie about an unspoken but important part of American history. I love the Boys Choir of Harlem as well! This score made me cry for a while :/ Not gonna lie...

  • I have a belt buckle given to me by my father with Animis Opibusque Parati written around the buckle with a palm tree in the center. I know this is a belt buckle from the Civil war because the date is 1863 on the buckle, trying to find out if a ceartin regiment had this buckle and who in the regiment had it, like officers or NCO's etc... anyone can help me I appreciate it greatly. My father said it was my great great great great grand fathers....

  • @Antihippie24 that's a South Carolina buckle- the latin is the SC motto. it means 'prepared in mind and resources.'

  • @cptgaryklein That is pretty awsome history, I am not racist or for slavery but it is what it is. I am curious if a NCO would wear it or if a Officer would wear this type of buckle???

  • i saw ther harlem boys choir perform these songs at Brockton High. It was powerful.

  • To the 54th Massachusetts Regiment: "You Gave 'em Hell!!!"

    ::Salute::

  • Years ago I was soo in love with that piece!

I used to turn my stereo up to maximum and whoa and the end it was like goosebumps everywhere and man - the part near 3:00 almost blasted my speaker and made the floor shake and tremble... unbelievable. have to do that again :-)

  • "But now we must make it a whole country....for all who live here, so that all may speak."

  • I've always thought that the scores for Patton, MacArthur, and Glory were the best and most inspiring, especially if your an American.

  • powerfull,,just amazing!!

  • Boys Choir of Harlem

  • This is by far the greatest war film score ever penned to paper, and then to film.

  • @mrBt18 They was :D

  • love the chorus part

  • lol becoz it is a civil war in america

  • This is some of the best orchestrated music in the world, it really touches especially if you are American.

  • @aflockofmusic2 especially if you live anywere and have a great sense of emotion

  • my dad has this on vinyl. he has a really good stereo and speakers and when he blasts this it totally brings you in

  • such a badass war song.

  • Whenever we go out to battle for a re-enactment this song always plays through my head while we're pushing or riding the guns out to placement.

  • Is it a good job???

  • what do you mean is it a good job. Re-enacting is a hobby. you dont get paid for a hobby my friend. Its a hobby where people educate the public.

  • Mabe I'll try it out one day, it seems it would give you a better understanding of how battles were to the individual soldier. Am I correct???

  • you are correct. My dad and i do it for the personal experience. We're both in the artillery right now but we'll be going into the infantry. My dad spent 15 years in the infantry with the 155th New York out of buffalo new york and he said that every event was a different experience for him.
