I actually tried once to unplug everything when I left for the weekend and turned off the lights constantly and my bill actually went from 49 to 23 dollars. Well also other roommates were mostly studying in the library. My tips are:
- buy light bulbs that use less electricity (worth it in the long run)
- napkins from campus diners
- air dry clothes
- recycle bottles
- costco five dollar chicken
- rice and chicken legs (good meal)
- when its cold, we huddle in one room an play a game =)
These are great tips as I am a current college student. I write a blog documenting how I manage to save and make money on the side to support the college experience. You can read about tips and my attempts at broke-student. com
#1 tip for saving money in college: ask professors if you can use old editions of books. Some books do not have any new information but cost $100+ more than the older edition. Then buy the older edition on Amazon for a few bucks. This has saved me a lot of money over the years.
canned tomatoe soup and ramen noodles nough said instead of using a shower normally fill a bucket with water also when shaving bruching teeth fill the sink dont leave it running and only pay for things in cash its that much harder to buy that shirt u absolutly have to get
Anyways, to everyone thinking that getting grants for college is hard... Let me tell you that it is so easy and simple. I couldn't believe it. I got a grant myself that made it possible for me to go to college. Don't pay for any information, it's all out there for free.

y cant you just save a bowl of water and split it into two bowls one for getting the tooth brish wet n cleaning it off n the other for rinsing your mouth out....just put the water straight from the faucet before you start your shower(dont use dirty water)
@SexyCeciDai That reminded me of something I forgot to put: whenever you get a bunch of napkins or ketchup or anything from fast food restaurants, keep them. Use them at home. I'm sure you were being sarcastic, but it's definitely a legitimate tip.
@JordynLynnn i didnt mean by the hat i just seems from your recent videos that you had started dressing preppy i didnt mean anything by it and the hat had nothing to do with it
It seems small, but it really does save money in the long run!! I bet she's the only one working hard in school. Keep up the great work!!!!

I got a tip: Air dry clothes instead of putting them in the dryer machine after washing. I bet hand wish clothes would be a good tip too.

get a brita water filter. it's cheaper than buying water because you just need to get it once, then you can filter your tap water.
