If you think that a chip that can "broadcast" an ID that a nearby device can pick up (no swiping necessary), you can pretty much have a scanning device that can pickup these ID and start stealing people's RFID enabled credit card number and replicate it to pay for stuff very easily.

@xdragon2k I dont see how that could ever be secured. SSL works because the packets sent are dynamic, but if the same data was always sent, then a man-in-the-middle attack would be unavoidable. The best they could do to secure it would be to send an encrypted token, which means the hacker wont know the identity of the cardholder, etc but they could still clone that token hash and embed it into another RFID chip and use that. To me this technology sounds inherently vulnerable to fraud.
