Sorry to hear that, man. I've had nothing but great experiences with them. I even won a free DVD from them awhile back. Either way, that sucks you've had such bad luck with them. I would've expected more from them.

Well, simple rolls (rock or heavy metal), are in one beat like in 4/4 metre. It can be four hits (4th notes), 8 hits (8th notes), and 16 hits (16th notes). You can choose them by tempo. In 200 tempo it's hard to do 16th :)) So, you should create a roll, or just take it from somebody, and try to play it very slow, and then start speeding-up. When you will feel comfortable, you will do that roll with no problems.
Otherwise, you should practice playing not rythms, but improvisations on all drum set, (cymbals, snare, toms, bass etc.), after that, you can make many rolls. You hear them - you can play them. I used to do that. Watch some of my videos, maybe they might help - just listen.
