Hi, I have the first one made by Rothco with the fleece lining and was wondering if
it is okay to wash a Canteen Cover in a regular washer minus the Alice Clips?

Like you i really appreciate to military canteen setup i noticed the maxpedition has a mesh bottom and was wondering how durable it was because when i sit down i have noticed that the base of my canteens rest on what ever i'm setting on which is rocks and trees and other rough surface. i started out with the imitation military canteen covers but the alice clip kept slpiping out some times when i went to get a drink whole case would come of belt. so i made a video to point out the difference

A trick for getting the canvas cover to fit better is to get it absolutely soaked with water, put the canteen cup in and then let it dry, it will conform to the size of the canteen cup that way, and then will work a little looser as you use it.

Greatest thing with the fleece is if you keep it damp in the desert it keeps the water in you canteen liquid cooler

I got a complete canteen cup and cover for like $5 - $6 works great, the handles on the cup get hot on a fire but not so hot so all i use is normal gloves. Mines also has fleece on the inside of the cover.
