  • right when the person started talking in the biggining, thumbs up if you thought it was somebody else

  • human anathomy for you man is sooo smaall...

  • this seems SOOOO hard!!! Memorizing like a bear, sword, pineapple...WTF DOING THAT FOR 500 CARDS WOULD BE IMPOSSIBLE!

  • works wonder!! it's been a week and i can still remember these crazy bunch of informations in tables, sets of numbers and measurements.

  • haxs

  • sound to easy for him. :(

  • loved what he said at the end.

  • he has a great memory , but anyone caourn get as good as him , just train ,train and train your brain... but it can take years to get as close as him ,, congratulations ANdi for the amazing memory

  • yeah but kim peek isnt 'normal' this guy is and has his own technique, yeah he wont be able to remember as much as kim peek but theyre different from each other

  • and i cant find my car keys...

  • magnificent moustache. it's like captain price is a kid's tv host.

    truly magnificent.

  • This is really cool I'm going to try practing this.

  • whats the song at 1:32 to 1:57 ?

  • @JamesShottyBoi It's called 'Poing' by Rotterdam Termintaion Source.

  • in my pov its not necessary to follow this method..there are many memorizing methods..pick one that suits ur memory...some people memorize melodies like me...BUT get the main idea behind memorizing which is linking and associating things together ;D

  • Damn this guy makes me sad.

Its takes me 20 min to remember 2 decks.

  • school must be so much better for guys like these lol, sigh

  • this is fuckin ridiculous

  • Does a person form more neural connections from using this technique (supposibly involving more different areas of the brain) than they would if there were to just memorise a sequence of card pictures?

If memory savants such as Kim Peek use more of their brains for memory storage, is what this memory champ doing sort of similar?

  • What system would you use to find out what card is missing from the deck?

  • Nice use of the Link and Loci Systems combined :) Really cool video

  • Hey thanks soo much for the video I really appreciate it

  • What do you precisely mean?

  • Can someone tell me how I could apply this technique in school? It's not like I would be memorizing random deck of cards.

  • Maybe if you have to remember some vocabulary words, you can walk around your school as you try to study them?

  • too much free time

  • u said it pal..

  • wow nice

  • hun, it's great that you cud do that, but u can't apply your own abilities and experience to the whole of humanity. It'd be the same for a physics genius to say, well, yeah, physics is ridiculously easy, I don't get it why people don't understand it.

  • Sorry, it's ridiculous to brag on You Tube, it makes you look stuck-up. I shouldn't have posted the comment anyway.

  • @hermotsura I agree. the principles are simple, but I think the complexity of the terms is what throws people off.

  • bullshit

  • man. u'll get A's every time in school.

  • liar! it's not something anybody can do!! 520 cards in order in 20 minutes? I couldnt remember 10!

  • i know it's unbelievable, but I've tried it myself. it has taken me about an hour and a half to memorize 5 decks of playing cards. I still remember the order. That's a total of 260 cards.

by far, it gives u fame in school. Last week, i told my friends to shuffle a deck of 52 cards and they did, and I memorized them all about 14 minutes. They still think that i'm a genius lol.

prince, you have to equip each card with an action, person or object.

  • How can I contact with those memory experts?

Hi everyone, I am a blackjack card counter, if you can do the speed cards in 2 minutes, let me bring you to the casinos , and win the money with your skill.

  • I know this technique.. is not very hard

I can remember a deck of cards after 3days I learn this technique

First each number is linked to a picture.. i know 100.. u just need to memorize this but for master like him he should have 1000 or more

then put them into places. let say number 1 is a ball. then u place the ball at the door in ur room in ur mind. and so on.....

    then ur desk, bookshelf etc..

  • 3 days for a deck... he did 5 decks in 20 mins. 3days for a deck is nothing. I could do 52 cars in like a hour tops.

  • I use 3 days to learn the technique, not to memories the deck. I use about half an hour or less to remember the deck

  • He said he could _remember_ the order even after 3 days. He didn't learn the order in 3 days.

And by the way, it was 10 decks in 20 mins, not 5. Are you sure your reading and listening abilities are as good as your memory?

  • lither you just rightfully pwned dmanschaumbizzie

    good job

  • Agreed, nice work

  • Comment removed

  • Dude, just stop it. 1:17, there's your answer.

  • lither you DESTROYED dmanschaumbizzie xD good one

  • Very interesting. Does anyone know this tecnique in detail? Would he be able to tell the positions of a specific card just as rapidly, or would he have to "shuffle" through the memory? For instance tell the positions of all the aces of diamonds.

  • He probably could but its going to take a long time.. notice that the 520 cards are split up into seperate decks. In reference to the book by Tony buzan (the founder of world memory championships), "The average brain cannot hold more than seven major items of information in its short-term memory" thus, this explains the need for the seperation of decks for easier recall of information. To locate the aces of diamonds is time consuming since he has to start from the beginning of every such decks.

  • Subsequently, he associates these numbers from each deck with a picture and then to link them up to what i call as a story or the route method. Given the fact that the brain is highly efficient at recollecting pictures rather than words or numbers in accordance to Haber's experiment, it is without doubt that the card could be easily recalled and described.

  • This is simply ridiculous!

  • Anyone heard of Jill Price? Shes a woman who has even better memory than this guy. She cannot forget anything.

  • I youtubed her a bit.she 's great also but I think she remembers most things that occured in her life.that was great to know thanks

  • isnt this the narrator for "Hitchhikers Guide To The Galaxy"?

  • I don't get it, someone explain it to me how to memorize things

  • Do some research on the method of loci. I originally found this method from a book by Dominic O'Brien who gives an excellent description of how it's done. It does take practice but any average person who may even have a poor memory can master this technique.

  • that's pretty cool. you are doing a great job

  • this same method is also used by some blindfold cubers especially when blindsolving multiple 3x3 cubes, 4x4, and 5x5 cubes.

  • Interesting thing is, I learned about this technique (which is called the technique of Loci) in two different classes this semester. But I'm not good at using it.

  • Great video - these techniques can be used to memorize lists of anything.

  • derren brown would scramble this guys brain. Derren > all

  • And Kim Peek would scramble all of these guys brains. There is NO competion, not even close to being close.

  • Kim Peek is a true memory master because he can readily accept novel lists of any size containing any information and need not review them for years.

This guy is still impressive though because he seems average in every other way.

  • @GodoftheGeeks not necessarily, there is something special that happens with a well training mind like this guys. These memory champions are able to acces a special state when the brain is taxed at memorizing allot of information, it releases special chemicals and neurotransmitters that speed up brain function to the point that focus and concentration and thinking speed is literally beyond normal human levels.

  • @GodoftheGeeks also allot of those guys have a level of focus and concentration that is really amazing compared to the average person.

In fact memory training is similar to meditation in its effects on the brain, in what meditation does in years, memory training can do in months. So you can get the focus/concentration/peace of mind just by training your memory and get to a level that those monks that meditate in the mountains get too, or even higher!

  • he is a true genius

  • i've read that this is an ancient technique developed by the greeks

  • Well it cant realy be much developt its just a ability some type of skill, its not something you yourself cant learn to do! Its probably harder to learn so was hard to ride a bike for the first time, but its obviosly worth it!

  • It's not hard. Google Roman Room method or loci method no i din't spell that wrong.

  • wikipiedia works fine to, herigone's system works to. The replacement of a well known route is replaced here by an array of already memorized objects mapping to certain numbers.

  • I like this techinicue and i think its usefull for learning!

  • Totally rad! I'm working on this, but haven't perfected it yet. I have one-hundred people numbered, but no verbs yet, or objects yet.

  • LMFAO! I'm totally gonna freek out everyone I know with this technique!

  • aaa i get it!

  • But there is noo bloody conncection between the card and animal!

  • To our point of view... no... there is no connection, but Andi taught himself to relate the cards to those specific items. Derren Brown's technique is similar.

  • I hate that guy with the moustache on those science programs as he is REALLY annoying by the fact that he ALWAYS look so smug by thinking that hes smarter than everyone else. Yes, we DO know what photosynthesis is, it's not the biggest secret in the world and hibernation. Pompous tool.

  • He is amazing. I'm gonna try this technique myself and see if this works for me in the same way it works for him.

  • I'm using this kind of technique now for my exams, it makes revising so much easier. Especially for a subject like Psychology where you are basically just memorising a set of facts. What they said on the video about him using the Loci method can't be right, or he would have to go through the journey everytime to recall a card, surely he must be using some kind of peg system.

  • THat man looks like he guy from the Sim City games.

  • Hey, have any of you tried this technique at school, in the workplace, or in everyday life?

    How did it work out?

  • that's preety cool.

  • I can't remember why I looked up this video

  • any recommended books that would go into detail about this technique?

  • Andi Bell has 3 associations per card, a person, a verb, and an object. When he's memorising a pack of cards, each location will 3 cards that represent 3 things in the story.

So if he see's 4C (four of clubs) as the first card, he translates that to the corrusponding person of 4 of clubs. Say 6 of diamonds comes next, he translates that to the verb associated with that card. Finally, the last card, whatever it be, he translates it to the object.

PM me if you would like more information.

  • Okay so he has a an onject or thing memerized for each particular card meaning that for example when he sees a 9 of Diamonds and his object is a saw, it is always a saw? If this is true, what happeneds if he has 3 verbs, how would he remeber them?

  • does it mean that for each card he has to associate it to a specific person, a very or an object depending on which position the card is in?

my record is memorizing one deck of cards in 60 seconds. but i use quite different methods. i'd like to know more bout his methods to make comparison. thanks.

  • Wonderull Video, you are doing a great job, could you please give some more Examples.

  • I want to know more information about memory.

  • @Equivicae

but how do you not get the sequences from the past not mess up your current sequences? i would get confused .....

  • I don't understand the technique...

  • I get it. He associates a verb, person/being, and an object with each card. He then turns each set of three into a visual in his mind, and turns the series into a journey in his head...possibly?
