...I... I don't get this anime at all. I've watched Cowboy Bebop, Gungrave, a little of Big O, Trigun, FullMetal Alchemist, Ghost in the Shell, Yu Yu Hakusho, Haruhi Suzumiya, dothack SIGN, and felt I had a good grasp on the weird things about anime...

but this series just baffles me. I can't wait to watch the first episode, and to find out if Lain really does kill herself. Is this one of those stories that the anime, game, and manga all tell differently?

What I heard was, originally, the anime was going to contain two different stories but they weren't able to do that, so this PlayStation game covers the "second story" that wasn't used in the anime.

I think it's interesting.

In a way, Lain kills herself in both the game and the anime.

Although the game has more of a literal sense whereas in the anime she simply deletes her exsistance.

...all that aside, her laugh is kind of creepy... e.e

It was mostly a vocal puzzle, It has little to do with the series really, its actually the second story version of Lain's world. Pretty much completely different,  this set-ups alot darker.

It's always shocking when the camera doesn't blank out or turn away when Lain kills herself. Just hearing the gunshot and her lifeless body lying there is enough to keep me up for weeks. An then the laugh...
