I got mine last month and my period has not stopped for 11 days now. I'm stopping at my OB'S tomorrow. I can't sleep, brownish spotting, long periods, headaches, mood swings etc. Not for me.
I was on Depo 9 mos. The first three mos were fine for the next 6 mos I spotted nearly everyday! It was the WORST spotting too, not enough to be a period, too much not to use a liner and just enough to annoy the HELL out of you. It gets worse, after I finally decided NOT to get another inject my period stopped all together. For 5 mos (I was not even sexually active) I didn't get my period. It must've took 5 months to get out of my system b/c that's how long it took me to get a period.
Your story sounds just like mine. My doctor urges me to take it because I have endometriosis and wants to preserve my uterus for children but I just cant. Smh!

I been on depo for 11 years n jus got off i never had any bad effects other than the first year my period was some bullshit (pardon my english) BUT after a year life was cool i had no weight gain or anything off. No headaches or migraines or anything at all. Ima ginger kid dunno if that makes a diff. I jus got off it and am 4 mos. sober I will say ima lil more tired n bitchy right now but ima guess it takes a year to wear off like it did to kick in :) It works diff for everyone :)
thank you , you were very true and informative. ive been havin the only headaches and im constantly bloated ive been on it for 23 days and i just cant wait for it to leave my system, im not takin my follow up shot.
This is so scary, my doctor may want me to go on it but I have bad reactions to a lot of meds so I don't think I will. I've been talking the ortho evra patch successfully for 3 and a half years but its not working much now. :(
THE DEPO SHOT SHOULD HAVE BEEN CALLED THE DEVIL SHOT! PLUS THINK ABOUT IT YOU HAVE TO GET IT WHAT!.. EVERY THREE MONTHS..... & WE ALL KNOW 3+3=6 & THAT NO# KEEP GOING ON & ON WITH EVERY SHOT.... LOL! ITS NOT THE DEPO SHOT!..... ITS THE DEVIL SHOT!!!
