@maswaster76 KOF 2002: Worst. KOF Soundtrack. Ever. The arranged version does very little to help although this is probably the only good track on the OST.
@MaverickZeroD I'm gonna go ahead and agree with you on that one. For both AST and OST. Though I always liked the start of Original Zero's theme, but once you're past that... back to suck. :/
@Masutora Right? The 2002 soundtrack wasn't any better (I felt they completely broke several KOF traditions in both games by messing with the soundtracks. Sigh. So glad SNK got the rights back for 2003 and on.
@MaverickZeroD There were a few tracks from the 2002 soundtrack I liked. But nothing I'd really feel inclined to download or favorite on youtube. It's more like " Well... this is alright. " Like the Orochi New Face Supermix. Unfortunately they bottled that up in the AST by not putting in Fanatic Waltz... - __-
I don't know why everyone dislikes KOF 2001, I have the orignal NeoGeo version on my PSP(Emulator that is badass runs without any problems at all) an yes it may not have been all that they changed it alot an the soundtrack was mediocre excluding this song i love it but 2001 was honestly hands down my favorite! I love Foxy, Maylee an Angel.
@fawful27 Because the game was half-assed in a lot of aspects, starting with a lot of programming bugs that made the game broken as fuck (silly infinites, weird strikers damage scaling, non-sense collision boxes, etc.).
I liked K9999, Foxy and Angel, as well as some songs like this one, but out of that...
@fawful27 Yes we can. While most of them are good (98 and 98UM being beyond good), some of them are total crap and you'd have to be blind not to see that (2001, Neo Wave, in some way 2003).
Kof 2001 OST arcade ver. = SUCK!!
Kof 2001 AST PS2 ver. = WIN!!

it does fit the whole ''agent of NESTS theme well'' and the ''2001 space thing'' pretty well.

KOF 2001 may not have performed well, but this had a great soundtrack, especially the arranged one.
