@paulaud I am glad you can see it on video in living color. I need to find out on how I can copyright this video that youtube had offered any one know?
that's my home town....I was in vietnam during the blizzard....someone mailed me black and white prints of the seven foot snow... and my housemaids were much more hesitant to want to "go home" with me!
It would have been nice if there was sound to this video. When I had the film edited to VHS in 1985 for my parents 25th wedding anniversary this is the music they chose / I guess if I have no sounf I can have the rights to this video and get paid
@walleyking the location is 4601 Kilpatrick just one block east of Cicero , I can notr believe how many people have viewed this video in the past week about 6 thousand
The blizzard of '67 was a lot more fun and interesting. We were not as prepared for the snowstorm in '67 as were have been in '79, '99, and now '11. If I remember correctly, it took a lot longer to get back to normal after the blizzard of '67.
This must have been the aftermath of the Blizzard , I am sure it was as tretorous as the Blizzard we had 2 nights ago, I swaer i heard Thundere & seen lightning unless it was the plows, I even mentioned this video on WGN AM this morning around 6:15 AM
I almost didn't get home to visit family before shipping out overseas in 67. Couldn't fly in and finally managed to get a train from Memphis to Chicago. Cabs were impossible but there was one driver who would only take servicemen. He piled five of us in and distributed us all over the north side before dropping me off in Evanston ... and he didn't charge us much at all as I recall. Spent the next few days helping people unbury their cars. Actually had a great time with everyone on the block
Where was this exactly near Midway? We lived on the corner of 64th Place and Meade in 67 and I remember that blizzard like it was yesterday. I was 10 that winter.
It's a good thing chicago isn't a white town anymore...crime and gangs were soooo bad back then. now that the blacks and illegal aliens have everything, i feel soooo much safer now!
Hey, we lived at 4855 South Kilpatrick!!! Right in the neighborhood! Actually we moved over on 50th and Kenneth just over the tracks there on Archer by St. Richards in 1965.
