  • Bruno: My Husband fly's the Logan map in Condor, Do you as well?

  • @avoterinmo Yes I do. I haven't flown Condor much in the last few years but it is a wonderful program for seeing what a new place is like. The Logan Condor is very much like the real thing. Bruno

  • It seems to me that a proficient glider pilot works with nature rather than against it and thus maximises the flying experience. It's simply amazing to watch you fly with such grace and confidence. Wonderful video, thanks for sharing.

  • @gbvb79 Thanks so much for the kind words. Sharing what we experience up in the air is a real pleasure. Regards, Bruno

  • @6btl6 Yes, at 8:47 it shows the mountain I was trying to go back and forth and ride up to the top. At 24:18 I speed up the video to 6 times speed to get across a boring stretch. No turbulence, just the sped up video. The tube in nose is oxygen that is fed from a computer that delivers the right amount depending on altitude. The mouth tube is drinking water to stay hydrated. Thanks for watching. Good questions. Take care, Bruno

  • Thanks for letting me fly along. I enjoyed the flight!

  • I told you this last winter too but it's worthy to repeat: Your videos are the key factor for an eager glider pilot to survive trough the no-flying season. And the quality keeps getting better too. Thanks again for these.

  • @kangasl Thanks for the encouragement. It keeps me motivated to keep making these. Spring is just around the corner...well I wish it was. :) Take care, Bruno

  • wow your videos are spectacular! I am a student pilot at Provo airport and these are just a blast to watch! I know this will probably be a simple answer but Im curios as to how you are able to glide so long? I am only familiar with single engine aircraft so I don't know the characteristics of gliders but I am very interested. Its one of the dreams I have to go gliding someday. Thanks!

  • @pyrokylehatch Thanks so much for watching. We fly out of Cedar Valley so you have no excuse to not come over and say hi when we are flying in the summer. The airport opens back up in May 2012. Come pay us a visit. Most power pilots have no idea how much lift there is up in the sky most days. The turbulence you try to fight through is our lift. As you can see it is not bumpy since we ride the lift instead of fighting through it. Come fly with us next summer. Take care, Bruno

  • @bviv ... Ups; ran of available letters ... Well, I will return to the grey and dull Danish winter, which has already set in ... But with the help of a little condor-soaring and a lot of YouTube and Your videos, I think I will manage through another winter :-) Thanks again, Bruno ! Best regards, Christian.

  • @gliderklajdkl I was not far from where you live just a few weeks ago, in Amsterdam. I love your part of the world! I hope to fly with you in Condor some time and best of luck in your own 20 once you complete your license! They really are amazing ships. Take care and thanks for commenting. Bruno

  • @bviv ... That is great news - and thanks ! The 'over the shoulder'

-view is a great view in Your great videos. I really enjoy watching them, and I am looking forward to Your future videos from You and Your new dreamship :-).I have a 1/3-share in ASW20L s/n 20278 (which I am not presently flying as I am still working on my license - Just a few more years to go, and will hopefully be flying 'my own' 20 ... :-) ) , which of course adds to my pleasure of watching You flying another 20' ...

  • My dream is a ASW-28!!!!

  • @K0S0s I have a very close friend wanting to sell his beautiful asw-28 for around $72k. You interested? I'll put the two of you together. :) Take care, Bruno

  • @bviv... Id love it but im 15 and have a total of $95 in my flying fund... will he take the price down to that lol... Thanks for the reply

  • Im curious, have you flown an ASG 29? How does it compare to the 27?

  • @dmt3339 I have several friends who own 29's and they say that in 15 meter configuration it feels exactly the same as the 27 other than that they can load an extra pound of water wing loading. The 29 is amazing if you want the higher wing loading for amazingly strong days and you want the 18 meter wings. Take care, Bruno

  • Nice terrain, beautiful place to fly.

  • Bruno, Im officially a groupee now ;)))) I have one complaint, sorry, make that 2. Firstly I had to wait ages for you to up a new video....I need to feed my addiction & secondly, is there room in there for me ;))) Superb scenary as per usual, quality camera may I add & when are you going to make a documentary for TV? Keep on doing what you do, I love your flights. Ross

  • I always like your videos but I was not taken as usual with the rear view mirror. I look forward to next season. perhaps a forward view again.

  • B4, you've made the right choice. The 27 is an aerodynamic work of art. I'm currently looking for the ASW-27 SL, which will be idea for me down here in Southern Nevada.

  • Hi Bruno !

Thanks for yet another great video - and congratulations with Your new ship !

Are there - despite the rather large headrest on all the new Schleicher ships - any changes of You returning to the old camera position from Your 20' where the camera was positioned behind Your head to the right ? From that position You also had a good impression of the instrument readings and I really liked that camera position.

    Thanks, Bruno !

    Best regards,

    Christian,

    Copenhagen, Denmark.

  • @gliderklajdkl I will 2nd that opinion. I much rather be looking forward and see the stick and the instrument panel besides the view !!

    Deane

  • @gliderklajdkl Thanks for the support. Good news. I will make a should mount over this winter so we can get the same great panel and front views that I got in my asw-20. This was just a fun end of the season flight and I decided to take the cameras just for fun. It wasn't a full fledged production. Take care and I look forward to making a ton of new videos in this new glider next year. Bruno

  • Lucky! you got a 27! fun ship they're rocket ships!!!

  • So you just bought this 27? Did you sell your 20? Do you see a huge improvement in performance?

  • @simonpaquetdotca Yes, I purchased it a few months ago and sold my 20 to a very close friend who lives in Bend, OR. The glide is about the same since I made those huge changes to the 20 which brought it up to 27 performance, however, the handling in slow speed and thermalling is what won me over to double my investment in a new glider. I loved the 20 and I am so far loving the 27: Life is good - thanks for watching. :) Bruno

  • @bviv

Hi Bruno, what modifications did you do to your 20 to make its performance that much better?

  • @alpha4You Other than some minor tweaks here and there the main mod was with an experimental winglet design that required cutting of some 16 inches off each wing tip to keep the new tip within 15 meters. It was a real leap of faith to take the saw to the wing! Take a look at some of my other videos taken after August of last year and you can see what they look like. Take care, Bruno

  • Is it scary knowing you might not have anyway back if you cant find any lift? Non-powered flight is something I am always interested by, but very scared to think about actually doing.

  • @JetlinerXPilotXFSX when you think about it, powered flying is actually even more scary.

Think of a Helicopter having an engine failure.......

An engine is just one more thing that might break.

And gliders are much more efficient than powered airplanes.

  • We´re looking forward to the next saison : )!
