  • I've heard of deaf dogs... Never owned one. But I believe that even dogs can learn sign language, whether they are deaf or not. I'm deaf myself and I use ASL on my big doberman and if I want him to respond to sounds, I combine it with sounds.

Amazing job on your little one!

  • He is one of the most gorgeous american pibbles i have ever seen

  • Im a shelter volunteer and I socialized an 8 yrold pit named Stitch who looked like a grown up version of Zero and Stitch was great, He loved attention, played tug of war and the visitors would stand at the fence and watch us and Stitch would come to me and always maintain contact with me. I want to commend you on training this cute little boy and using ASL instead of throwing him away, he is very smart and what a handsome boy!

  • meu roch é igual esse pit bull

  • I find this soooo fascinating

I think it's so fantastic how you train him.

Ten thousand thumbs up for dogs understanding sign language =D

  • Gorgeous puppy.!! And much respect for what you are doing!!

  • SOOOOOOOO CUTE!!!!!!!!

  • my dog looks exactly the same lol and she is deaf also .. shes really stubborn though but shes starting 2 learn little by little

  • Yes Penny is deaf. But she is such a lovebug and is definitely very smart! She has learned a few hand signals (made up by m husband and I) and is very eager to learn more.

  • yes she definitely is an argentine dogo. I took Penny to Petsmart and a woman asked me and i said no i think shes a pit bull. the woman proceeded to recommend researching the dogo, and turns out thats exactly what Penny is.

  • Hi, i wanted to ask how Zero is doing. Penny is fantastic and learning so much everyday. I would like to also inform you that Penny is not a pitbull, but an argentine dogo (Argentinian mastiff) wow what a surprise. I have researched it over and over again. If you search this breed, you could compare the similarites. I was shocked to find out that she is indeed an argentine dogo, and will be approx 80-100 lbs. she is now 5 months old and weighs approx. 40lbs. just wanted to extend the info!

  • @sympathyvsapathy1 I get asked that a lot, if Zero is A dogo argentino. they look like white pits. is yours deaf?

  • train your pits responsibly training guide here is? excellent

    copy and paste AMERICANPIT.TK

  • I WANNA CUDDLE WITH THE PUPPY!

  • @Sleepyhead84 Zero is so cute. He is 10 months but so cute. I pull on his ears cuz I'm crazy about the floppy ears. Sometimes, he can be the biggest baby cry and I feel like he should go away but then Ill miss him so Ill put up with his crying. He cries about everything.

  • yea the pit is cute but the trainer is hot!!!!LOL

  • @rai81ders Thanks!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • that pity is ridiculously good looking lol

  • @Youknowthisman2001 Thank you. He's older now but looks exactly the same...he is cute...a baby cry...but so cute.

  • cute

  • wow thank you for posting this video! My husband and i have recently adopted/rescued a female white deaf pitbull puppy approx 8-10 weeks old, we have had her for about a week and half, and she is doing well. Someone dumped her in a neighborhood during a snow storm. . Penny is now a permenant member of or family, which includes 3 other dogs whom she loves and vice versa. Zero is amazing! (plus, is his name a nightmare before christmas reference??? its my favorte movie. literally! lol

  • @sympathyvsapathy1 Yes Zero is a NBC ref. When we got him we knew that he couldn't hear so naming him wasnt a priority. People kept pressuring us to name him, but it didn't matter. He is our 3rd dog. At the vet he was registered as #3. Then one day, I thought about Jack's dog Zero and that fact that he could here nothing and that's it. I'm glad Penny is in a loving family. Deaf Pits are very smart because they are not distracted by sounds. Plus, they live a very peaceful life and sleep longer.

  • awww, he looks so much like the deaf pup I work with :) One good thing to help him understand your command gestures better would be to give him the finish sign, the yes sign (especially helpful for them to see when they have properly executed the desired command), and good or good boy sign :) Great name by the way, it is such a cute name :)

  • @TaoFilms Thank you. Next month I am taking an American Sign Language class to get better. Poor thing looks confused sometimes. At least he understands the " i love u" sign.

  • so so so adorable and cute! but an advice for you to think about, do not train any puppies or dogs on a wood floor.... it can cause health problem in the future, such as hip, leg problem... add some carpet :o)

  • @iheartmahstars Thanks...Zero is adorable. The whole house has floors. I am a neat freak and dog hair gets lost in carpet. Zero's learned not to slip while he comes to a halt.

  • my dog looks just like him.he has the spots on the ear and everything lol.

    he is now 11 months

  • @quaykey is your dog deaf too? they are so cute, aren't they. I think I may be spoiling Zero.

  • negative on the breedin with another white pit my puppy white pit his father is white but not deaf and the mother was a blue pitbull not deaf these parents spit out my awesome smartest lovable white pit bull thats deaf his name is cruz but they have a kennel of 6 pits four white two blue only one that was deaf was mine

  • @bertoshuff I am in no way support breeding any deaf pit, or any dog, but people will do what they want regardless of my opinion. So, if they must breed at least it should not be where the odds are greater for the reccecive. I've trained many pits, but my deaf pit, Zero, was the easiest and most satisfying. He is so cute!

  • @linyeagle Its a male dog & his name is Zero. He is an albino Pitbull.

  • This is GREAT,.. keep going :)

  • @Hidi1771 Thanks!

  • This is so great and comforting to me! I just found and adopted a 6 week old white pitbull. When i brought him home after his first vet visit, he was acting a lil strange and I knew something was wrong. Turns out he is deaf. I feel so bad for him! This is my first dog and I am so worried that I won't be able to train him. Any advice? Did you teach him this stuff on your own or did you take him to classes?

  • @missneal09 First of all, do not feel sorry for him. He doesn't know he ca't hear so he will live a very calm life. I trained Zero myself. It's easier to train a deaf dog because he isn't distracted by anything. Noises don't scare him and he sleeps long hours. I am glad you find comfort in knowing that you are not alone. It's scary...I know. What do you wanna teach him and I'll tell yo how to do it. Emai me fdquebec@aol.com on subject write "Zero"

  • Please Reply, My Dog Is Deaf Whtte With Blue Bloodline Will He Produce Deaf Puppies ?

  • @JeRkNdStAcK The only way he will produce deaf dogs is if you mate him with another white pit. The reason why white pits are deaf is because they are missing pigment. Zero got the reccessive gene from mom and dad. If you wanna mate him do so with a pit who has hardly any white. Look on petfinder. com and press on dogs with dissabilities. You'll see most are white pits who are deaf. Good Luck and if you need tips let me know. HAVE PATIENCE.

  • @JeRkNdStAcK Better yet dont breed him at all. You are no reputable breeder and have no business bringing more pitbulls into this world, let alone poorly bred pits. Get your pit fixed, and avoid backyard breeding.

  • @JeRkNdStAcK hes right, aviod all reccesive genes and look for codominate(darker) genes.theres even plenty of all black pits out there that have not one trait of reccessive qualitys.

  • My wife and I just got a puppy that looks just like your Zero. The puppy we got is a female we named Sempa. She is also deaf and we didn't know she was deaf when we got her, but we've been working with her and we saw your video and we are very impressed and inspired. Thank You!

  • @drush0227 Ah Thank you. I made the video because when my friends found out that he was deaf they frowned upon it. I wanted to show them that my dog who is still a puupy could understand commands better than their dogs who were older and could hear. Today there was a stray dog walking in the middle of the street. I yelled at him to move away and he did. I realized how people who have hearing dogs take it for granted. Good luck & all you need is patience. Zero can jump over a hoop now too!

  • @drush0227 Oh yeah...99% of pitbulls who are all white will be deaf. Its a reccessive gene.

  • que lindo lo maximo paqui te extrano mucho prima querida

    es hermoso zero
