I like the mind games involved in this. In a match against Raahsan MarlinPie did this to the second character and then team supered phoenix as she came in and killed her with the mix up. The second match he tried this on phoenix but Raahsan only side exchanged the second after X factor. At a high level of play this is a 50/50. If the player knows about this side exchange X factor tech they may wait for the second side exchange after X factor. But you might only throw one side exchange :)

@Angeal878 And the reason why people use Wesker is because he's easy to use. Some people don't want to invest time in learning a character or just don't have the freetime to use a character. I understand that games have to have an easy to use character to get people playing their game and also a complicated character that takes time to learn. Wesker makes any team better because he's easy to pick up. But I have no problems fighting him online because everyone who uses him does the same things.

@Angeal878 First off. I don't use Wesker my team is Captain America, Hulk, Nova. The problem with games in general is people think because their technique or fighting style isn't working against an opponent they think the game is broken, instead of TRYING A DIFFERENT TECHNIQUE. Against Wesker learn his animations for teleports (this works for ANY teleport characters Virgel, Dante, Pheonix) Teleports are a easy punish. If there's an assist, jump or high jump. Assist only work if you stand there.

@panicave I just discovered a new anti-Wesker a couple of days ago... Put Dr. Doom on point and use an assist to keep the opponent away (i.e. Dr. Strange Eye, Dante lightning, Akuma whirlwind, Ammi ice, etc). Spam your assist and Dr. Doom's Hidden Missles.

So far I've locked down every Wesker player. The minute he came in I comboed off the assist.

@ThCakeIsALie While that is effective against Wesker, I wouldn't really call that anti-Wesker. Hidden missiles put a stop to almost everything, but there are ways past it and Wesker can still punish with a well timed teleport or dash in.

Trish theoretically destroys Wesker because her best place to be (above and far away) is also the worst for Wesker.

Hidden missiles are just broken and stop any combo, the only thing to do is avoid them. This applies to any character.

Even if you mash side all the time, they're basically guarunteed to get a much higher damaging combo by doing up/down exchanges, as well as a meter boost, and that's just going to screw you overall. i think the better dark phoenix counter is if you still have X factor and you have wesker and another beam super character like iron man, ryu, etc. let her be dark phoenix and DHC or THC with wesker as your controllable character, as soon as you see wesker pass phoenix, X factor. this works because the Phoenix player cannot Block it because of the beam super pushing Phoenix. and has no time to react to it

@extremebigmeal Do you understand how strong TAC is for fly characters? Forget about the damage/ meter/ steal thing gamble. Once hit by a TAC, ALL hitstun deterioration goes away until either you or the opponent touches the ground. This means that any character with strong air combo ability can do combos normally not possible since they no longer have to take hitstun deterioration into account. You'd better guard against TAC like your life depended on it. Because it likely does.
