so amazing! i saw her live once, i was in the first row right in front of patti and a box right in my face. i was beautifully drowning in the sound of her voice and i got the privilege to watch patti shred on her guitar. seeing her again this month in Vienna in a theatre. got tickets for the 2nd row seeing her the 2nd time
Lavxtee - then stay home and wallow in your memories. I loved it as I have loved every time I have seen her perform over the years. If you cannot appreciate a matured talent then you don't belong in a crowd listening to it. Lady Gaga is still young. Perhaps you'd be better off at her concert. Then in 30 years, you can rail against people for how old and washed up she is.
@Lavxtee I don't know, it's like seeing the jazz musicians when they were her age. They might not have been the same as when they were young but they had the cumulative force of the years behind them, all they'd seen and endured, and just the fact that they'd come this far...so if some of the notes aren't there anymore, what is there is maybe narrower but deeper, more true. And she has always been an uneven performer--in 1976 they were already calling her a "ranting parody of herself."
@Lavxtee I agree with those who think she's amazing on this song. And I don't think it would have been the same in 1975--she was slavish about the Stones then. Now there's an irony and a wisdom you wouldn't have heard before. No, she won't be able to do it forever the same way, but every time I get worried that it's too late, she comes up with something like this song and "Gimme Shelter" on "Twelve" and I think she could be like Ella Fitzgerald and go till the end.
i was THERE

I'm sorry--if you had seen her in '75 (or even a few years ago)
as I did, you wouldn't say this was amazing.
It's too bad, what made her such an amazing
force is barely there anymore...She, like Dylan, is a
cardboard cutout parody of her former self, and yet,
as with Dylan, we cut her slack because of
how awesome she was--unique, original--and for how she
changed the art of rock.

@Lavxtee - barely there anymore!!?!?!?!?!
I guess It's lucky that I didn't see her at ther HEIGHT as this destroyed me and I probably wouldn't have survived her past "amazing force"

She was fantastic! I only had her "Horses" album...I now plan to get everything she's recorded.
