i just noticed a big difference between 'castlevania lament of innocence' and its pal version titled 'Castlevania' only..this is alot faster in terms of gameplay..whereas the pal version is so freakin slow in executing combos and running..definitely gonna get this game (NTSC version) for the sake of the fast whipping action with the vampire killer, the only weapon I have ever used to clock it coz i love hearing the crackle of that whip..so cool, i have neva used sub weapons...lol .=)
this is a great game. the only thing that i didnt like about it is that it was short. i though beating the 5 bosses was only half the game. i expected another long way to go before the last level.
My biggest beef was how the traditional zany platforming elements were hardly there. That's one thing the N64 version nailed but IGA slipped up on here. Curse of Darkness was even worse in that department.
Sorry, but I need logic-defying level design where I'm hopping and bopping all over the fucking place, and Legacy of Darkness delivered. LoI only had a smattering of the design I crave here and there, and CoD's level design was as flat and uninteresting as the flatest-chested chick you can imagine.
@dspprince H9onestly the thing I didn't like in the end, was pulling out an extra story after beating Walter and how hard he was in comparision...To me, it just didn't match the rest of the game, story and all...I mean come on...Walter was suppose to be the big bad, & yet the hardest Bosses (at least for me...) was Death and The Forgotten One...Wth? lol.
Otherwise, great game...Although I do admit I am not fond of Capcoms Trademark Huge Life Bars you gotta take out more than once in a row lol
i like this castlevania game saga i hope the make many stages the same this dimension game am a castlevania fanatic and also i like floating in the air and his costume design
Yeah, that was off-putting. The 3D versions of Metroid, Zelda, Metal Gear, Sonic and Final Fantasy last MUCH longer than their 2D counterparts. But LOI took about as long as a GBA Castelvania.
nice dude!! u have lot of skills! u are way better than me!!! i lost 2 times vs Walter and 1 vs Death! i dont know how u do it but u have to teach me!!
Legends from removed from the official timeline so it's not part of the series official canon anymore. According to the current timeline Leon was the first Belmont to use the Vampire Killer, but Trevor was the first one to face Dracula.
I don't buy into all that retconning crap; wasn't Circle of the Moon declared non-canon as well?
To toss out an awesome game like CotM and a good game like Legends, yet hang onto mediocre ones like Adventure and Simon's Quest...it's like a big bowl of horseshit soup.
CotM was reinstated as a "side story" along with Castlevania 64 and Legacy of Darkness (mainly because the people on the current Castlevania team previously worked on CotM, 64, and LoD). Legends is the only one that was completely removed since IGA said it "conflicted" too much with certain story details like Lament of Innocence and the "Trevor being the son of Alucard" thing would cause confusion among some people.
A little extra something from a website talking about the timeline:
"The storyline from Castlevania Legends has been retroactively removed from the official Castlevania timeline due to its suggestion that the Belmont clan are descendants of Dracula through the union of Sonia and Alucard. After the release of the official timeline that came as a preorder item with the release of Portrait of Ruin, it is now the only released Castlevania title that officially did not take place."
Death is such a fucking bitch boss battle on hard mode.

and why crystal?ii The better thing to fight death is Hi-speed edge (axe / green orb) cause you avoid the minions easily

Not wanting to be critic, but you need to improve.. you jump and take damage a lot for nothing, when a couple of quick steps should solve that.

@rockinsparzy105 You heard wrong. Legacy of Darkness on the N64 is easily the best.

@rockinsparzy105 Lords of Shadow is fantastic as well. This, that, and Legacy of Darkness are the way to go.

And Trevor was the son of Sonia Belmont, from Legends for Game Boy.
I can only assume Sonia was the one referred to when the narrator mentioned Dracula meeting the Belmonts again after centuries.

I concur, good sir! Konami does seem quite proficient in concocting these less than desirable time-line stories.

So that's how the legacy of the Belmonts began, hm? Very interesting. Here I thought Trevor was the first of the Belmonts.
