Everything in this song is so true! I'm from Wilmington and I liked seeing the "A Place to be Somebody" sign in the beginning. I'm also a senior at UD, so I liked seeing the pic of Jon Stewart on the floor of Trabant! And as I like to remind my roomies from NJ, it's the beach, not the shore! :)
It was a warm reminder of our great state! I will always be proud to be a Delawarean even though I have lived in California for more years than Delaware now.
The Charcoal Pit still exists in Delaware. There is one on Concord Pike, one on Kirkwood Highway, one on Pike Creek, and I think there is one in Bear.
Delaware is not as nice as it used to be. Too many people moving in and it is now one of the dirtiest States; people just throw trash everywhere.....so sad!!
I lived outside of Newark for 17 years. Moved south in 90 - still miss it. Saw many things in the video I remember. Good question - where is the Pit? Shame they didn't put the Deer Park and couldn't put the Balloon it it.
@Stratster1 I hate to break the news but the Balloon is no longer with us. They tour down the whole building and built a condo building on the site. There is a Cosi and a resturant called The Balloon Wine House in the building however. Newark's Main Street has changed so much in the last 5 years (yes the Deer Park is still there).
As one economically stuck living down here in Florida this video brought tears to my eyes. I was born and raised in Delaware, and I spend 24 hours of every day missing living in my home state. At 60 years of age I am sure that I will die down here without ever seeing Delaware again. To those of you who live in Delaware cherish what a gem that you have.
@mwkessler --- I know what you mean about the non-Delawareans moving in to the state by the truckloads. I moved from Fenwick Island to Florida in 1998 .... but I have relatives and friends who keep me up-to-speed about what is happening up there, good and bad. I still would give anything to live out my final years in Delaware, especially when you consider the hell-hole I live in now ... Flori-duh.

@RCP729 Its a gem but rapidly moving towards Jersy as they have all moved here. The population is up 150,000 in 10 years.
