  • I remember playing that game when I was a kiddo. It was very confusing. I hated the reverse level!

  • I remember that. It was a Famicom Cart with an adapter on it. And I think Baby Mario was written in sharpie.

The game itself is actually pretty fun. I remember liking the music a lot. Also I discovered a level skip cheat at some point. I don't remember how it works exactly but you have to be at the title screen.

The levels designs and graphics are great.

  • My video store also had Baby Mario haha.

  • this game has been selling at my flee market for three years at 500$ :O

  • I glad the days of mega man style Gs are over.:D

  • I looked for this game so long ! I played this game silly hahahahaha, there are more of these kinda games.

  • I must have this! Gotta love the Chinese!

  • @sirsniffy Super Troll.

  • You have a good voice for radio...

  • KA-BABY!!!!!!!!

  • Where are all of these game cartridges ? Every video store had this game. They are nowhere to be found nowadays.

  • iv figured out what Bio Miracle "Bokutte Upa "translates to it's" Bio Miracle Bokutte baby Upa" not that much of a translation thought

  • WTF it all makes sence this is why mario is red, a mushroom eattin, turtle stopin', plumber....or not...XD

  • All I remember about this game was that it came in a weird baby blue cartridge and that NO ONE believed that it existed when I told them about it

  • @stdelcambre It might have been a pirated game i believe!

  • shit I made a search for this game, hoping to find something... found this cartridge at a video store in my town of 3k ppl in Canada lol, I was like 7, good times!!

  • Man i can remember playing this when i was younger , but i don't remember almost anything about it. Wow. Although i do remember that reverse level.

  • I can't get that tune out of my head now...

    Baby Mario...Ka-baby!

  • this reminds me more of "klonoa" then "dig dug

  • You can buy this game on the Wii's virtual console for $6.

  • YO is dis bootleg for real

  • dig dug (cake compacter) looked fun

  • Ka-Baby! Love you're work.

  • I rent it when i was a kid at a local store. It was something like a 2parts cartridge. It was fun. Do you remember Invisible Mario (same as Mario1 but the background was total random).

  • OMG ITS TRUE....Wel Only The Beeginging.....:P

  • I used to know this game as "Baby-land" !! I played the japanese version on a NES =O!!

  • Can you review JET SET RADIO FUTURE?

  • OMG!!!!! i used to play this game all the time with my sister on the original japanese nintendo!!!!

  • I didnt even know this game existed????? wtff!!!

  • is this game still headed to the North American VC?

I had sooooo much fun playing bio miracle on the jap disk system back in the days. It was an instant classic back in the days.

  • ka-baby!!! LOL!!!!XD

  • Pocky at 1:13 yay =9

  • LOL this game is one the virtual console for wii

  • lol at 2.15 IT'S BIRDO!!!

  • So... it was illegal?? My first experience with the game was when my mom rented it for me when I was a kid. It was at one of those mom & pop video stores that was exclusive in my area. I was having trouble deciding what game I wanted to rent and the guy who worked there said that it was good. Oddly enough, if I remember it was hidden away when he told us about it.

And if I remember, you had to turn it upside down to get it to go in your system.

  • At 1:50 those pigs are standing on sticks of POCKY!!!!!

  • I played all 4 versions of Bio Miracle Bokutte Upa! (Hong Kong hack, Famicom Disk System, Famicom 1993 re-release and Wii) and I can assure you the fairies were always fairies. There was no graphical changes in the hack whatsoever. But the hack was missing a sound channel (due to the rushed Disk System to NES conversion) and would somehow reset itself after beating the 7th world boss. You couldn't beat the final boss or watch the ending in that version. Sad.

    I love that game ^^

  • I TOTALLY remember this! I got mine from a local rental place too. the cartridge was small and square and barely fit the NES console. WOW! Thank you for posting this! If I had a Wii, I would totally get this! Thanks for the memories.

  • Y DOS EVEY THING WANT THIS BABY DEAD LOL

  • I got "Mario Baby" on VC today, worth the 6 bucks!

  • Chesssffftpppppthfffffffffft.

Dig the music on this game. I'd pay 6 bucks for this Konami gem.

  • Sweet! Now its out on the NA VC! Hurry up and review another obscure NES game so that it can be released on the VC!

  • Sweet. I was looking at the newest vc games and I saw it and was like "Sheet! It's Mario baby!" It got a good rating on vc-reviews so I'm going to try it out!

  • i dont know if you addit that sound track from some other game butt that sound like a sound trak from i think it whas the turtles game on the nes

  • dude, all Konami games sounded similar. almost all of them used the same NES instruments.

  • Is that a little Shin Chan plushy on that shelf?

  • on the computer level, some chips look like the old konami logo

  • the big pig is a Japanese incense burner.

and what was the opening song thingy? The "lalala" thing. Disgaea?

  • Yeah it was, as was the theme at the end.

  • Im sure this game would have compounded America's obesity problem

  • ROFLMAO.

    KA-BABY!

  • what was that music at the intro?

  • Ohh I want this game!

    It's only in japanese?

Do you think it'll come on Virtual Console on Wii? Hope so.

Baby Mario in cake land, sounds pretty awesome to me.

  • Yeah actually this game was recently rated by the OFLC so its coming to Euro VC at the least.

  • Awesome. ^^

  • It just did.

  • was that hack title real?

  • Of course. Hong Kong pirates totally loved to write LOL on the title screen on their pirated games in the late 80s early 90s.

  • Dude you remind me of will ferrell or however u spell his name.

  • Dude you remind me of will ferrell or however u spell his name.

  • dude, the had it at 4star video in north babylon

  • KABABY

  • I'M SINKING IN THE CHEEEESE!

  • i like this game. looks cute

  • KA-BABY!

  • wow that is so random. i want to play it right now!!

  • You said similar to dig dug in the beginning. The part eating the cake was like it a lot more except for going to the top.

  • wow, that game actually looks like it could be fun, even though it's just.... weird looking

  • This game was supposed to be officially released in America, but it wasn't for some reason.

  • possibly cuz this game is wtf....

  • wrong. bio miracle bokutte upa was a real game, which wasnt supposed to be a mario clone, officialy made by konami. somebody released a hack of the game called mario baby.

  • Bio Mircle Upa was a good game also!

  • this is bio miracle. i guess people just call it mario baby. they didnt use paint, just sashanein did.

  • this game is amazing

  • TY for the good memories, i played this game 17 years ago and i was kinda fun.

  • I'm sinking in the cheese! God! This is nuts!

  • first he eats cheese now the cheese is eating him

  • LOL "What's the sound of babies exploding? KA-BABY"! ROFL

  • This is pretty funny, but not as funny as a Howard Cneal review.

  • fantastic, and very humorously narrated. there were a few similarities I noticed, like how the scene after beating the boss is almost exactly like the one after beating a Wario Land 1 2 or 3 boss. Btw, why was that monkey throwing onigiri?

  • this game looks fun, hope it will show up on VC for the wii xD

  • I'd forgotten all about this game. I rented this one like 20 years ago. Odd shaped box w/Baby Mario on it and all. The only "Mario" type characters I can remember at the moment are some of the smaller enemies were smaller sprites of Mouser form SMB2. Definitely a fun walk down memory lane, thanks Sasha!

  • I remeber playing that game you had to get the extention only one video game store carried it. IT WAS AWSOME same thing with that 4 games in one with an egg guy and like 3 others games. LOL the name of this game they are reviewing is Bio Miracle Bokutte Upa and I guess there was 4 games made if you have BAED for the Xbox you might be able to look under your japan games for those Upa titles

  • Egg guy? Quattro Adventure?

  • where is the budokai 3 explusion?

    Still Gaming Reviews rules

  • you should have made the kabang be the world blowing up scene

  • Robotbling, this isn't an early version of Yoshi's island or anything... It's not mario. >_>

  • The baby is cute. The game actually looks better than a lot of the crap that's out there.

  • Uh, it's created by Konami. So it wouldn't be called Mario baby.

  • It was pirated from Konami's version.

  • Ok...

  • It kinda reminds me of Chubby Cherub and Zool.

  • You know Upa, the baby in this game. He looks very similar to Chancey from Luigi's Mansion.

  • I remember being able to select levels.

  • LOL, the cartridge is the baby with the dynomite stick, sitting on the pig. XD nice job Lee, ur review r great!

  • WAH I WANT SOME POOOOORK!

  • The baby character Upa eventually appeared in the Parodius series which is a Japan-only Gradius satire series.

  • I rented this when I was young, just like you dudes. One of the video stores had some pirates. The worst being "Invisble Mario," where Mario in SMB1 was... invisible. The japanese Super Mario Bros 2 was also availale as a pirate rental.

But back then, who knew? Multicarts were big, and game pirates were foreign concepts for us.

It's nice to see that other folks got to play Baby Mario though. lol. Oh for a time when rental joints lacked scruples ;).

  • I found what the hacked cartridge looked like. Do a search for BioMiracle_Label.jpg on google images and you'll see it. Nothing special.

  • They really used MS Paint on the screen? XD

  • Yeah, that's only because they hacked the title screen only and didn't decide to screw with anything else. I wish I could find the real hacked version somewhere. Been a long time since I've played this thing.

  • KABABY!!

  • I see. Good luck with that.

  • You move incredibly fast.

Say, you got any free time? Cause I need to play Nestopia online with someone.

  • Nope! Totally backlogged. And medicated on Vicodin. And trying to pass a kidney stone. Playing Disgaea 2 at the moment on the other half of my LCD monitor. Love this new Adaptec Gamebridge thing I bought a few days ago.

  • Wow. This actually does seem like a mario game in parts...did you notice the Konami logos in the computer stage?

  • Hard to miss 'em!

  • Interesting enough. Love to see the actual Mario Baby box etc.

I'm not sure why you seem unable to move in the video, is that some sort of medical problem?

  • I never saw a box. Just a wonky cartridge.

Yeah, I have serious problems moving around. Someone has to poke me with a stick at times just so I can change positions.
