According to Jeff Russell's Starships site, the Whitestars are actually about the size of Excelsior-class Starships on Star Trek, so they're not all that small according to that comparison.

B5 was an Eathforce Station but the White Stars were part of the effort to stop the Shadows. They were not apart of B5 but since it was a command post in that effort they often are seen with and protecting it. Later the fleet is part of the Stellar Federation based on Minbar. Nice video.

@LionlordEbonfire You forgot to mention that part of the reason why Babylon 5 is being guarded by the White Stars is that Babylon 5 was given to the IA sometime between the end of season 5 and before the end of Sleeping in Light (20 odd year time difference) until the IA handed it back to the EA a few years before Sheridan died.

Those White Stars can kick holy butt against Earthforce ships, but they would stand no chance against Shadows in force. Without the full force of Vorlons and the other First Ones, they would have lost the battle of Corianna VI. The Shadows had a galactic empire a MILLION years ago. Think about that. We're bugs compared to them.

Talia Winter was Ivanova's lover. She never gave Marcus a second look because she gave her heart to Talia. She was motivated to destroy rigorous organizations bent on lying (PSI-Corps) because of Talia's destruction.

Were it not for Talia falling on the same path Susan's mother died upon, she never would have had the same resolve. Susan "rose from the grave" of her mother, and her beloved Talia to expose lies. She's a telepath, too, remember.

Were it not for Talia, and Talia's destruction, Marcus would have had a chance, but Susan made love with Talia. That revealed she is a telepath. She was fairly emotionally mangled due to Talia also being mangled by Bester.

JMS is horrible at managing people and is swayed by a gum wrapper. We never got to see anything of Andrea Thompsons Talia Winter when she was forced to quit the show because she was "wanting to make it the Talia Winter's show" by asking for a prop change) upon her departure

I personally loved the storyline of susan and talia. And I have to admit that I was very interested in the development of it. And the development of talia. The Talia Winters we knew til the 2. seas. seemed to be weak, but I am sure there was a great potential in this character. And with Andrea Thompson a good actress to bring out the best. But therefore you need time - and time wasn't exactly on JMS side.

And that Marcus had no chance just because Susan made love to Talia - well I doubt that. Marcus had a chance - and Susan did love him. But she was afraid of being hurt and left again ... that's all. That's why she wanted the friendship with him...so it was sure - he would never ever leaves her or hurts her...it sounds strange but it makes sense in her world...

Marcus as a character was a cool and funny one- I enjoyed his appearances in the show - but never really saw him Sue's lover ...

I love Ivanova. She made an awesome #2. I don't know if I'd want to serve under her, though. You either would be killed in action or horse whipped under her command. : P I loved how she yelled at the Starfury pilots that she was as fearsome as the Shadow ship. The tragedy story of her and Marcus too, the love that never happened until it was too late. Plus Talia. Ivanova's a complex, bisexual woman with career before herself. Her character was more subtle and involved than many on the show.

As much as Sheridan became the main hero, Ivanova was the one that really made a lot happen, both on Babylon 5 and in the battles. Especially for Earth. And I liked how she insisted on Sheridan be on an Earth ship when retaking Earth. She was loyal to the Nth degree. I wish we could have seen her in season 5, especially on the Warlock class she commanded. How fitting she'd become a general and end up overseeing the Rangers, since Marcus so readily followed her in his heart.

I agree, Susan was a great complex character and Claudia Christian did a great job portraying her. But I think Susan would be never get this far without help of her friend John Sheridan. Sure it was a kind of funny for the audience to see her acting like that, making jokes, saying things and treating people like that, but to be true ... with that temper and behavior she wouldn't come that far in the military. Nevertheless I love her too! Thanks for the comment!
