splendid technique and power in his performance, but i think there is a luck of sensivity in a way by speeding so much...iI'm not a specialist but that's my impression..
Quelle merveille ! Merci de tout mon coeur de me permettre d'entendre Chopin, Mon Chopin retrouvé sous vos doigts ! A quand le prochain concert Chopin donné par Dimitri à Paris ?
leoyyg is right. rubinstein is a bit better on chopin generally. nevertheless sgouros is a great pianist and he plays the piece very good. i never liked him very much though. he seems to me a bit weird. anyway nice performance
Great performance. I remember Dimitris as a child prodigy at 12. In 2008, I am very much pleased that this great icon is still going strong and in demand. In this rendition, he shows great balance, control, beauty of tone and artistic sensitivity. Friends, Dimitris has memorized virtually every piece in the classical piano repertoire: that's how good he really is!
not much polonaise here...hes missing the dancelike character, it sounds so mechanical, listen to rubinstein, he really captures the lightness and dancelike qualities that are so essential to this piece
The highlight for me in this piece is the extremely powerful melody starting from around 3:00. Very beautiful piece all in all. Sgouros is also showing top class playing which makes this a really great clip well worth watching.

the most beautiful part of the poloniase, (especially by dong lim and yundi) is around 4:01

LOL a bosendorfer!!!
nice tempo! everyone rushes! I'm enjoying this performance quite a bit.
Sgouros' technique is godlike.
The greatest child prodigy ever. Played Rach3 in Carnegie under the baton of Slava himself at the tender age of 13. Fucking beast.

Technically very good, doesn't rush it like many do, yet shows his skill often in faster passages.
Strange technique at time, but seems to work for him, so fair play.
Shame about video and sound quality though.
