Look at their ranks going into the fight. The winning Abel had a Grandmaster rank. (like you'd have if you were in the top 30 ranks, say)

The BP under the grading is the first players BP (in Battle Point/Championship Point matches). That is his BP after the battle. The grades above it are also his. EEE is terrible. Look at other videos and the grades and you will see people winning with AAA's [I've done it]. If you were right that'd make no sense at all. I'm in G1, I've played the game plenty.

And for clarification, you can barely make out the BP's under the players' names on the screens. Shiro (the loser) has 43 thousand-ish, Tobo has 14 thousand ish. The final grade shows Shiro's BP after the fight from losing. Those Letters are his as well.

You're definitely right about local matches but this is with BP involved and unless you're playing in Japan there's no BP involved, right? So I'd have to say that was the 1P's grade. Locally I'd imagine it'd always show winner. We could always test it on XBOX, play a friend and see if you guys see the same grades.
