Free to play and pay to play can get everything each other has.. the free to play just has to buy packages if you want to do certain things, and most will tell you this is not a pvp game but we do have pvp and WOW guildwars every game out there came from DnD this game just let us play a real time DnD game, we had Baulders Gate and NWN but all were not RTA so this was a branch out, jsut WOW and guildwars got bigger then ddo... check out theDDOtube and more vids will be coming soon

I will say it simply. I am playing various online games for lie 5 years now. Including trials of things like wow guild wars and over 40 other mmorpgs and mmo whatevers. Yet ddo is the first game i ever subscribed to. Different then other mmos in too many aspects and fun over and over. Never gets repetative.

This game is part free, part pay to play. Around the 10th of Sept. 2009 Turbine announced that they would make it free to play as well. They have it set up where you can buy premium items, weps, armor, ect. in the DDO store which is in the game menu. I play for free, and this game rocks! I encourage anyone who is looking for a new change in MMORPG'S to play this. It's deffinately worth the download.

Not necesarrily. You can get all the treasure and other items the subscribers get but it costs alot of gold to get. other than that, you can play against a subscriber thats pvp and not get "pwned."

You Don't get exp from killing monsters but for completing quests.

quests are a sort of dungeons wich you have to complete. Very fun and absolutely NO grinding involved.

yeah it's a good game but one thing i hate is you can only summon one creature now? is it still like that? i know most games they dont let you summon more than one anyway but people that pick necromancer from the start ..they want an army... though true maybe it was too far when they let items summon .. my thief summon like 7-8 monsters hehe.. but i had fun.. and isn't that the point? =D

WoW, simpler, BLOOD ELVES....oh and you keep the XP you get

D&D you lose xp for dying.....thats a dealbreaker...ill stick to WoW....unless you can play as a vampire....then again ill just wait for world of darkness online....

Wow must be an old version of the game, everythings been updated since then, new race (drow elf) new difficulty (solo)and a plethora of new quests, and NEXT update we get to fight the blue dragon and level cap is raised to level 14. this game is pretty good for an MMORPG game but still WoW is still the best MMORPG out there. more people play WoW because of burning crusade and WoW is also more Appealing then D&D. I have actually tried this game out. But I have to say out of all the mmorpg games this one was very limited. On WOW you do have more options plus no annoying DM. But either way D&D is the root of every mmorpg game out there.

Sure is. It's an MMORPG. I was just taking on one of the early training type quests that don't require grouping. I think the mission after this one required a group or you had a good chance of gettin killed.
