Well, at least we can distinguish Brook's style from Zoro's. Brook uses the underworld/music/illusions, Zoro has super strength, steel cutting, and Asura. Each are good at their respective things. Glad Brook wasn't a Zoro rehash.

@Woodenfan Zoro uses brute force boosted cutting and stabbing attacks with three swords, Brook uses the quicker and more precise stabby motions of fencing (which is primarily a single sword style) and the power of music.

Their basic fighting styles varied a great deal straight from Brook's introduction. Making him a rehash would pretty much require Brook to suddenly change styles after about 60-70 years of using his current one.

And then there's the whole "Brook's a skeleton" thing.

Sure, he's a wacky character who's always cracking bad jokes, isn't that strong (at this point in time) and is a bit cowardly, but he's still a friggin' walking Skeleton!
