Sorry, I don't have a transription. Maybe you could use the English original (search for "The Crown of Roses" here on youtube, there are lyrics better fitting the rhythm than the original verse given in the info to this video)
i am not schooled in classical music, so maybe someone can offer an opinion - i did take piano and am familiar with only the more notable classic pieces. Tchaikovsky was my favorite because his work (those pieces which i knew, anyway) was so deeply gloomy, so moving, and never light-hearted and whimsical. to me, that is beautiful. would anyone agree with my generalization on Tchaikovsky?
@jas22 Tchaik was a)Russian, and b) deeply depressed for much of his life, so a lot of his work is relatively grim, but he also has a great deal of beautifully vibrant works, like his incredibly famous violin concerto. Much of it is in major, but it is no less moving. Also, consider a number of the pieces in "The Nutcracker" - sprightly and joyful, but still some of his best-loved work. Basically the man was a genius, and most of his work, regardless of key, strikes a chord (sorry) in people.
Beautiful! I am Ukrainian Greek Catholic. Russia is predominantly Christian and has been practicing the Eastern Russian Orthodox Christian faith since ancient times, even under persecution by the Communists they survived and thrived. Russia is a democracy today and the Russian Orthodox Church is the Second largest church in the world with all the other Orthodox Churches behind the Catholic Church which is the largest church. I love Russian Church music! Slava Bogu!
Don't know where one might get a CD, but here on youtube there a a couple of recordings of this piece named "The crown of roses", with English text. Use search or look in "similar videos" list on the right :)
Beautiful!
