No, I do not think they could of. It is not even so much about Chamberlin either. Billy and the band evolved into the masterpiece that was "Adore". They band as a whole had a different attitude back in 91. 91 was a much different time than 96/97.
Mon Dieu, cette chanson est superbe, j'en reste sans voix à chaques fois que je l'écoute. 100 fois que je me dis que j'ai vraiment bien fait d'acheter Adore.
17 years old in my room by myself watching Deer Hunter on a Friday night. By myself. Playing Mario Kart 64 on my own. Listening to 'Pug' in the background on CD. Trying to hold back tears. It felt so good to cry even though I had no one. The song summed up everything for me. It was just my interpretation of the 'sounds'. Despite what the song might actually mean really. Sad times when they happened. Depression, valium, anxiety, low self esteem. The song brings me back. Great song
I'm really happy there isn't any hate comments on here. I fucking ADORE this song. It's my favorite off the Adore CD aside from Ava Adore, of course. This was the first album I heard from the Pumpkins aside from all their mainstream hits.
why is it people bag out bands like the pumpkins saying for example this album was a faliure, the last was huge and this1 flopped, no band should make a album like the last, each album the pumpkins have made is a great and each has its own sound and story, let the band grow and move with the moment, Adore in my opinion is one of the m,ore complex and best written and sounding albums theve done, its amaster peice!!! so deep and the different sounds are whats made it, ROCK ON PUMPKINS!!!!
I think ADORE is an amazing cd...it just had a little bit of trouble because it came out after Mellon Collie and Jimmy Chamberlin had recently got kicked out. I love it though.
i think jimmy wasnt in the band yet i know they used a drum machine for s0me of their songs, and i looked at the picture in the video thinking who the hell is the girl at the front...OH MA GAWD ITS BILLY!
i love this tune, i really wish that smashing pumpkins could reform from the basis, i mean the original members, not this shit that they putting infront of us, its a disgrace
This is my favorite Adore song. It does seem sort of magical. Several of their songs feel that way... other examples (for me) are Soma and Thru The Eyes of Ruby.
I think Billy was better with hair, by the way. xD
The pumpkins are my favorite band. I love the diversity of their music. Great lyrics, great melodies. They don't make it like them anymore (even the new pumpkins don't do it like they used to ne more)
As in the 'new' Pumpkins on Adore? This was the one we were all waiting for when I was growing up and I went and bought it the first day it came out after school. I thought this is shit, apart from 'Pug'. With maturity, 'Adore' is one of their best albums, it is complete. When it cam out I felt, with hindsight we were all hoping for something amazing and heavy and rocky but Billy did something better than that and wrote an album so personal and private that
the critics just didn't get BUT true fans did. I'm 27 in a couple of months so work that out, I'm not spouting bull shit and I wasn't disagreeing woth you my friend, because the pumpkins were who they were when they wrote zero, xyu, fucking all the rest. I apologise I am drunk!
thats true but you know what it is, its that billy himself said he wanted to reintroduce the SP in Zeitgeist and at the same time capture new fans, but he tried this by using a mix of what i consider Adore Mixed With some Machina and MAchina 2 and a few hooks from earlier albums which isnt very good idea. Luckily if you go hear the new song he wrote fro the sky saxon tribute concert it honestly reminds you of Mellon Collie,
Favorite song from what is a great album.

wait... were all 4 of them still together on this album?

no, Jimmy got temporarily kicked out for doing drugs (heroin). So, they used a drum machine to record all the tracks. jimmy came back in 1999.

"Ride the telephone." My friends and I have had lengthy discussions as to what that could possibly mean.
Man, I fucking love this song. Hope I can persuade my boyfriend to let it be our wedding dance song, lol.
