  • slow down, i'm trying to follow you!

  • Made it on the first try...thats a first...thanks...

  • i also get a circle when following this video.

  • yaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaayyyyy thank youuuuuuuuuuuuuuu!!!! : P

  • @tashianaanelyn I am glad that you like it.

  • wat the hell my star turned into a f-ing circle this shit is gay

  • @giraffe199812 I sent you a playlist with the beginner crochet stitches. Knowing some of the stitches will be helpful. Come back and this tutorial should make more sense.

  • My circles are off to the right where I join. It always happens whenever I do something like that (ie solid granny square). What am I doing wrong?

  • i so hate this

  • glad i found this just have a question what if I wanted to make a hat with the star in the begining how would I proceede I have a few Dallas cowboys fans who have asked me make them a hat and a star in the top would be great any help would be appreciated I have an example if you would like to see

  • @natasjja99 The easiest way would be to sew the star on the top as an applique.

  • Thank you, I've been trying to figure this out on my own but haven't had much luck. I just learned to crochet 3 1/2 weeks ago and have been playing around seeing what all I could I could make on my own. Figured out how to make a very simple heart on my own. Just seeing what all the stitches make other than squares! ;) But I have to admit the star kind of eluded me. I could make it but then it would turn into a round coaster. Cute but not what I was going for. But now, thanks to you, I can do it!

  • I tried to follow this, but you go sooooo fast

  • Thank you so much for posting this instructional video. I wanted to crochet a puertorican flag but had no clue how to make the star for it. Your video was increadibly clear. Reading instructions is hard for me to do. I spend so much time trying to remember what the symbols mean that by the time I am ready to try the stitch, I'm fed up . This video was amzingly easy to follow. Thanks for your willingness to share your talent and help others : )

  • @iamfree6565 You are welcome. Thank you for the comment.

  • I only started crocheting in January this year. I am doing fairly well, but am finding written instructions confusing - and then I came across your excellent videos. You are a marvel. I am already getting excited about trying out all sorts of new things, especially the Shell with 3 Double Crochet and the Broomstick Lace. Thank you so much for doing all these videos.

  • @TheMrsworrall You are welcome. I appreciate the comment, thank you.

  • shew ive tried it about 5 times now and it never turns out like a little star,it looks like a little circle :( im frustrated

  • Is it okay to use an "I" crocheting stick?

  • You can make this star with any size crochet hook.

  • :( when i try to make this it turns out a circle...

  • I would say that you may be missing the valley decreases and doing to many stitches.

  • this is so confusing. how do i find out what all these terms mean? what's a chain and whats a single crochet?

    mine's gone all wrong :( x

  • I have all the basic stitches in a playlist that I will send to you.

  • i made about 10 of these stars. thanks. best teacher..love your videos!!

  • Thank you very much. :)

  • well i've tried this several more times...it just doesn't look like yours, although i'm following along...could i be using the wrong type of yarn? it's 4 ply with a j needle...they just seem to look lopsided...

  • Hi - i have tried to do this over and over again, but for some reason it doesn't look like yours...what am I doing wrong. I made my son a huge flag blanket and need to make stars for it...

  • What I can think, without actually looking at your piece, is that you may be missing some of the decrease joined stitches. If you would like, you can send me an e-mail with a picture and I will be able to tell you more.

  • I am making about 20 of these today. Happy holidays. Lora

  • You are busy today.

  • I definitely love this! You can actually put the stars on your xmas tree... You're fantastic!

  • Thank you. :) You could stiffen them and put glitter on them for the Christmas Tree.

  • can u make a bigger star

  • You can make it a little bit bigger that what I have demonstrated in the tutorial.

  • mine keeps looking like a circle

  • Hi! OMG i'm impress, you're the queen of croche =) i'm starting to learn how to do croche, can you tell me what's what i need to do croche? i'll be waiting for your answer to buy it! and i'd like to do that pretty star!

  • All you will need is a crochet hook and some yarn to learn to crochet and practice the various stitches. Learning the language is important so you can crochet any pattern.

  • A fun little project that you could turn into a mobile for a baby, or just for yourself. ;)

  • You could applique it on a hat or a granny square.

  • wow!!!! That is amazing!! how many years how you been crocheting for??

  • i've made a ton of stars. thanks for the easy to follow steps to make the star :]

  • You are welcome. :)

  • u look like an pro and expert combined i do it really really slow

  • I have some knowledge with crocheting. When I first started, I crocheted really, really, really slow for a long time. It takes practice and your speed will pick.

  • that is super cute! thanks - stars are my favorite. <3

  • is there away to make the 5 point star a center for a granny square?

  • There are two ways you can do it.

    1. Applique it on the granny square.

    2. Work 4 chains evenly around the star and then work the granny square stitches and corners in each of the chains.

  • oh thats sweet thanks so much teresa

  • Nice one!

  • Thank you. :)
