  • This was on ITV before or after Bullseye!! ?? I remember seeing this at my grandparents house, I remember Credo as well.

  • When I heard this starting at my grandparents I knew the weekend was fast coming to an end and back to school again in the morning!

  • ITVs answer to Songs Of Praise

  • Music and the St Christopher reminds me of Blockbusters hummmm

  • I only watched this to hear the brilliant theme tune when I was a kid! The actual programme was boring as hell!

  • @Diamondblade2008 LOL - that was funny you saying that....Me too!

  • @LeeMbarrett HAHAHAHA!!!!!!!!!!!!! I must admit when I saw the intro to Highway for the very first time, I thought it was some futuristic hi-tech game show, not a boring hymn show aimed at old-age pensioners!!!!

  • Check out that 1980's sky at 0:20!!

  • This brings back memories.

  • i used to think that harry seacombe was god

  • I used to love this programme when I was a child, I really cannot remember why now, but every week on sunday evenings it was the highlight for me.

  • As a Kid I used to dread hearing the theme tune to this Programme in the early 80's and reason is because everytime it came on it was the dreaded sign that confirmed to me that it was Sunday evening, the weekend was over and I had to be up early for School in the Morning. So everytime that Theme tune came on a hot lead would leak into my Stomach :-D

  • This theme tune made me believe in god.

  • I always thought the theme tune sounded so exciting-the actual programme was far from it!

  • I agree, would often watch the beginning based on the exciting theme tune totally forgetting that the programme was actually rather dull.

  • See just how much Sunday evening programmes on ITV have changed since Highway finished in 1993.They have changed quite a lot since then.

  • They say the Devil has the best tunes; well he hasn't this time!

  • Harry Seacombe is a legend.

  • Good to see this up...i am looking for the tv theme though!

  • yep Highway ment bedtime in the 80's :(

  • WOW!! Sunday UK TV in the 1980s was so depressing. If the thought of going to school the next day was'nt bad enough. Great to see this show again tho!!!

  • Lol.Yup for me Bullseye on Sunday afternoon was the cut off point before abject depression set in at the prospect of going to school the next day

  • oh fuck school in the morning and now its time for my bath!!!

  • @andyknox I can remember being at my grandparents house when this started, about 5? and knowing that we were going home, Nan getting their tea's ready etc!!

  • i loved that opening and thaT DANCE MUSIC VERY GOOD STUFF I REMEBER THE LATE 1982 ADVERTS PROMOTING THIS FOR EARLY 83...

  • Yeah, that 80s music was really hip, especially as Highway was a programme aimed at pensioners!
