  • Ordinarily, i would have been under the impression that radioactive treatment for thyroid conditions only apply for neoplastic causes of toxic nodules, and not just the phenomenal hyperplasticity for whatever cause, be it primary or secondary.

  • insufficient pathophysiologic connection between poor eating/refined foods and adrenal and thyroid pathology...statement is a little bold!

  • Thank you for this video :) I suffer from Graves disease myself and I take Propyl Thyracil to regulate it. My eyes were bulged out before but once I got on the medication, my eyes went back to normal within 2 or 3 weeks! GD does not run in my family that I know of. A few years ago before I got this disease, I had very poor eating habits and I was under a tremendous amount of stress. I know thats how I got GD. Im doing good now :) How is your health now?

  • I wounder if marijuana can help Hyperthyroidism? Or make it worse?

  • @grimreaper957 That I'm not sure about. Probably something I won't test out on my patients though :)

  • @grimreaper957 .....smoking marijuana helps my tremours a little as well as stay calm and not move so much. but it mainly helps me eat without throwing up. im not sure if it is damaging my thyroid but my doctor doesnt seem to mind.

  • @grimreaper957 I bet it helps...not to much though...but weed helped me with my IBS after being bulimic...so it might help with this)))

  • I had already lost down to 82 pounds at 5 foot 8 and it was melting off by the day. I had 18 nodules on my Thryroid was unable to eat or drink hardly anything, I was literally at death's door. I had the RAI pushed in my face and with that I could have been tried on AntiThyroid meds but I was in such a state that my Endo made the decision for me I thought after RAI I would be back to normal and didn't know I would be on T4 for the rest of my life. I have't felt "right: since my gland STOPPED

  • @VickyGoss Sometimes RAI is necessary, and so considering the circumstances you were under I wouldn't have any regrets. However, just keep in mind that the RAI did nothing for the cause of the hyperthyroidism, and that even if you do need to take thyroid hormone on a permanent basis, there still is a chance to do some things to improve your overall health and feel much better than you are feeling right now.

  • I've suffered over 11 years from stress and depression as well as not eating or eating too much junk but everytime i go to the doc theres no help apart from them offering me goddamn tablets which i know will mess my life up.... i have been tested for thyroid but i read somewhere that there are a few tests to do and just one won't do, is this true?

  • @zaazi123 Well, you definitely want to receive the typical thyroid blood tests (TSH, Free T3 and Free T4, TPO and/or TSI, etc. But there are also other tests to help determine the underlying cause of the condition, such as an Adrenal Stress Index test, hair mineral analysis, hormone panel, etc.

  • as i said, please go away now. i have other things to do than listen to your rubbish. u are programmed by the system. u think you know it all while just listening and learning from big pharma propaganda. good luck,,!

  • I try to stay away from soy products and not eat alot of sugary foods. My grandmother had diabetes.(she's passed on now.)My mother has under-active thyroid disorder.I have over-active thyroid disorder. And I had no choice in taking the radio-active pill(s).The doctor told me I had no choice and I HAD to take it;so I took it.Despite me telling him that I wanted 2 find another way to treat the disease first he said I still had to do the radioactive radiation therapy anyway.Rhetorically what do u do?

  • @prettycountrygal

Take your doctors advice I have tried all the naturopath bullshit it does not work.

You'll end up harming yourself. Have a thorough talk to him about naturopathic medicine and he will explain it to you.

  • thyroid issues = communication issues. there is a mind pattern behind every ailment.

  • @SovereignBeing

    "thyroid issues = communication issues"

Starvation = communication issues as well?

"there is a mind pattern behind every ailment."

So you're telling me that you can beat starvation/live without food for more than 1 year by just changing your mind pattern? Are you stupid?

  • @shawondemand i didnt say anything about starvation!

  • @SovereignBeing

Starvation is the simplest of ailments lol (the body not getting what it needs; basically your definition of ailment correct?). You can't justify saying every ailment has a mind pattern behind it if you can't prove yourself in the simplest of cases.

  • @shawondemand there are plenty of things you can do for starvation and the mind pattern behind malabsorption is not wanting to digest what you are learning in life. when you realise the mind, body and spirit correlation behind every ailment and take responsibility for it then you have better chance of recovery. if you blame others, or take conventional medicine, changes are you will not cure, just mask symptoms which will get worse over time.

  • @SovereignBeing

"there are plenty of things you can do for starvation and the mind pattern behind malabsorption is not wanting to digest what you are learning in life. "

What? That does not make any sense.

"when you realise the mind, body and spirit correlation behind every ailment and take responsibility for it then you have better chance of recovery. "

Do you actually have a degree or university education to back up this nonsense?

  • @SovereignBeing

"if you blame others, or take conventional medicine, changes are you will not cure, just mask symptoms which will get worse over time."

If scientists after rigorous laboratory experimentation and after checking the theory behind a chemical (we'll call it chemical A for sake of argument) have found that it cures ailment B, then why in the world would you think that it will not cure it?

Just mask symptoms? Synthyroid has not masked my symptoms lol. Read my next post for proof.

  • @SovereignBeing

After taking synthroid I have grown and gained large amounts of muscle which I would not have otherwise gained without taking "conventional medicine". I can lift 90 lbs with a 45 lb bar with ease in my bench press; doesn't seem like any symptoms are being masked to me. I can jog/exercise and do whatever I want without feeling tired so I highly doubt any symptoms are being masked.

  • @shawondemand wait ten years and then say that! you will be on that for life, because your thyroid will no longer make the hormones naturally. of course you will gain muscle when working out. i can work out with low thyroid too. and my method for cure is taking natural tyrosine and iodine and other things for hormones like wild yam and other herbs for kidney support.

  • @SovereignBeing

I've been on synthroid for 2 years and have not once experienced a bad symptom.

"of course you will gain muscle when working out. i can work out with low thyroid too"

I lost a lot of weight and lost a lot of muscle when I was not on the medication. No you can't workout with hypothyroidism because you will have no energy and your muscles will not have the thyroid necessary to grow.

  • @SovereignBeing

"you will be on that for life, because your thyroid will no longer make the hormones naturally"

I had an ultrasound done and it was revealed to me by various experts that my thyroid gland has been destroyed by an autoimmune disease called Hashimoto's thyroiditis. You likely have this disorder too. No amount of healthy food can cure your hypothyroidism because your gland is already destroyed and is currently being attacked by your own immune system.

  • @SovereignBeing

So it wouldn't even matter if I decided to take your natural supplements because the gland is already destroyed and wouldn't be able to create it's own thyroid hormone; thus resulting in me most likely dying.

    Therefore your point is invalid.

  • @SovereignBeing

"you will be on that for life, because your thyroid will no longer make the hormones naturally"

AKA my thyroid gland does not create hormone so I need hormone. There is no way to make my gland create more hormone because it is already destroyed. You're basically telling someone without any legs to go for a jog, hoping that the legs will magically appear out of no where.

  • @shawondemand right.. well if you want to go into semantics, the pituitary gland will no longer send the messages to the thyroid to make the hormones. because you are just feeding it with the synthetics.

  • @SovereignBeing

TSH- thyroid stimulating hormone is generally what blood tests for hypothyroidism are aimed to evaluate. The pituitary gland releases TSH.

If your argument was correct than in the two years that I have used synthroid my TSH levels would have had to fall (for your argument to be correct). However my TSH levels HAVE NEVER gone down. They have only RISEN over the course of all the blood tests that I take. (which is every two-three months).

  • @SovereignBeing

Like I have already said. Our thyroid glands(mine and yours) have been destroyed due to an autoimmune disorder that you and I share.

EVEN IF I decided to not take the "synthetic medication" my TSH levels would rise to a level where my thyroid gland would cause me to choke. Ever heard of a goiter? Look it up on google images. That's what happens when you leave hypothyroidism untreated. I would probably die of a heart attack before this (I have felt my heart failing on me..

  • @SovereignBeing

...when I was not on synthroid).

I am telling you from experience. After a week of taking the medication for the first time you will experience sleep like you have felt before, it's like pure euphoria.

Give it a try! Surely a week of taking this medication can't permanently hurt your pituitary gland correct?

And if you don't you risk causing your pituitary gland damage due to the excess thyroid stimulating hormone that your gland has to produce to keep up normal thyroid funct

  • @shawondemand ....what medication are you talking about? if you dont mind me asking. my doctor told me that i am past the medicine and radioactiive iodine. all i can do is have the surgery and take the synthyroid, as far as i know.

  • @SovereignBeing

And if you don't you risk causing your pituitary gland damage due to the excess thyroid stimulating hormone that your gland has to produce to keep up normal thyroid function. This heavy amount of TSH will cause a goiter which will kill your thyroid gland-cells.

  • @shawondemand - Did you doctors tell u that..? no doubt if you believe it, you will create it..

  • @SovereignBeing

Lol this is incredibly well documented (read any peer reviewed journal). You can even go to wikipedia. I have studied this issue independently from a doctor. I usually get a blood test done if my thyroid feels swollen or slightly enlarged.

If cells are forced to become larger than their supposed to be than they die (due to an inability of nutrients to travel into the cells microorgans). This is a simple argument that you can also google if you have doubts.

  • @shawondemand blood test results are very inaccurate. mine came back perfect, but i have all the symptoms and effects of hypothyroidism. i am managing it well these days, with lifestyle changes, and increased exercise. i prefer alternative medicine, you prefer conventional. each to their own.

  • @SovereignBeing

YOURS CAME BACK PERFECT? So you self-diagnosed?

    HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAH ^^^^^^LOLOLOLOL

There are so many diseases that have symptoms similar to hypothyroidism. You could very likely have diabetes.. an iron deficiency...vitamin B deficiency...Tell me your age please and I could debunk your diagnosis.

Hypothyroidism occurs when your TSH levels increase beyond a range of 3-6 (not sure of the exact units, must be micrograms?). You are a fool for trusting your naturopath on whether or

  • @shawondemand oh i see your a closet specialist are you.. go back to your quack and leave me alone kiddo. i dont need some idiot on utube to tell me about my health conditions thanks.. get lost..

  • @SovereignBeing

No but I'm a university student and I know how to use my common sense.

I don't mean to offend you sorry about that. You can only have hypothyroidism if your TSH (thyroid stimulating hormone) levels are too high.

I'll respond once more with a comment about my experiences with a naturopath.

  • @SovereignBeing

    or not you have hypothyroidism.

You can only have hypothyroidism if your tsh levels go beyond the normal range (that's usually how they determine whether or not you have an iron deficiency).

From personal experience I have accidentally taken blood test when I THOUGHT I had the symptoms (the symptoms come back if I'm on too low of a dose, this happens if I go through a growth spurt). You made a mistake mate.

  • @SovereignBeing

I think it's also pretty obvious that cells will die if yo get a goiter.

Tell me where did you get all this fluoride nonsense? Youtube and google eh?? No doubt if you believe it you will create it.

I saw my own thyroid gland (when I took an ultrasound) and the doctor pointed out some VERY distinct differences between a normal thyroid gland and one with chronic inflammation.

  • @shawondemand fluroide and soy affect your thyroid. why dont u do some research on that, fluoride calcifies the pineal gland and therefore causes damage to the entire endocrine system, that and lack of iodine in soils, as the major attributing factors to thyroid issues. yes tyrosine gives u the same feelings of euphoria too. at least it is cheap and non synthetic. and no i dont have a doctor and dont take conventional medicine, so no i won't be taking those risks thanks. !

  • @SovereignBeing i suggest you look into the fluoride dangers more closely and perhaps get off the toxic waste that is our water supply. u may even prevent and cure this problem.. fluoride is a poison and if you say otherwise i would say you were totally fluoridated.. !

  • @SovereignBeing

And what do you mean by "Did you doctors tell u that..?"

You basically have no argument against me so you try to attack my information sources, when yours is simply from google and youtube.

  • @shawondemand so wiki beats google and utube/? grow up mate !

  • @SovereignBeing

I didn't get my information from wiki. I have READ peer reviewed articles and read from sites that have an .edu at the end of them <-- they can't have that unless they come from a respectable source.

  • @shawondemand go back to your xbox kid and leave me alone, u have all the symptoms of fluoride poisoning. !

  • @shawondemand respectable to who, the establishment.. oh god, wake up kid.!

  • @SovereignBeing

Wikipedia is not a respectable source.

Google is not a respectable source.

Youtube is NOT a respectable source.

"respectable to who, the establishment.. oh god, wake up kid.!"

Can we please leave out our "sources" problem? Because that's another HUGE argument. I used to be just like you tbh, but the stress that you get from looking up all these conspiracies is not worth it in the end. All you will end up with is "IDK if everything is corrupt."

  • @SovereignBeing

A source is respectable if it can't be altered at the wimp of a random person on the internet. There are no opinions in the source, only evidence. I have experience with hypothyroidism and everything that I have read thus far on peer reviewed articles makes sense to me. Everything that I have felt BEFORE talking to doctors about my problems makes sense and flows with their explanations.

  • @SovereignBeing

I have gone to naturopaths and I ended up nearly dying of a Heart attack. At first I felt GREAT on her medication because of the placebo but after the first week of being on her medication I noticed that I started feeling like shit again. I told her about how shitty i felt and by the end of the year I was taking down around 7 different pills a day (7 different pills but some of the pills I needed to take multiple times throughout the day).

  • @SovereignBeing

I was also getting my blood tested once every 4 months to make sure that everything was going well. I didn't tell the naturopath about the blood tests as a way to make sure that she was not lying to me about the "tests" that she was performing on me. For example I would piss into a cup and she would do some "bullshit" to determine the health of my thyroid gland (looking at the ph of my urine ect). She was telling me that the tests were coming back great, all the while...

  • @SovereignBeing all the while my real blood tests were coming in horrible. For two years my mother forced me to go the naturopathic route. (She would test my urine ph levels LMAO and a bunch of other random shit). It was the most miserable thing in the world. I finally decided enough was enough and I went to the doctor and explained the situation. He took my heart rate and it was incredibly low because I was likely going to die of a heart attack if I continued with her naturopathic remedies.

  • @SovereignBeing

I took a blood test and my TSH was 12. Which was twice the amount I was supposed to have. I have been living an incredibly healthy life, I no longer have brain fog and I no longer struggle in school (before taking the synthroid I couldn't remember anything.. my vision was also very blurry and my hearing was also horrible). I am now a healthy teenager who lives a normal life thanks to synthroid. If I were you I would take a serious look at your own life.

    I wish you the best.

  • @SovereignBeing Because I have been in a darker place than where you have been.

  • @SovereignBeing

    Tell me your age please.

  • Hey Im in med school, I dont need youtube to explain it to me.

  • And you know, I've noticed that once the hot weather kicks in my constipation is even worse, it's almost like I'm blocked and the stool is almost diareha-like. ;0

I try drinking lots of water, eating lots of fruit, oatmeal and fibre...But it seems during the hot weather especially i'm basically screwed regardless, as to why it sucks especially having hyperthyroid-like symptoms during the Spring and summer as opposed to fall and winter. ;p is it because the hot weather dries the body out?

  • @Donatello97 As I'm sure you know you need to always be well hydrated, but it's even more important to do this during the warmer weather. Some studies show that the peak incidence of hyperthyroidism is in the summer months, and many people do complain of their symptoms worsening when it's warmer.

  • @HyperthyroidismCure

Again, thanks for the info! ;)

I'm drinking tons of water, eating lots of fibre and fruit but it's still not enough or barely seems to make that much of a difference when going to the bathroom. I guess there's always laxatives in the time being. ;p

  • @Donatello97 use vit c or magnesium instead of laxatives they work the same way. and are better than nasty pharma meds..

  • @SovereignBeing

I usually drink lots of orange juice for VC, but I'm guessing you're refuring to pill form?

  • @Donatello97 i prefer powders, orange juice is not actually good that for u - message me if you want to chat more about al this.

  • @SovereignBeing

I have hypothyroidism and I have nothing but great things to say about synthyroid. Nasty pharma meds? Lol you're brain washing people..

The internet is where dumb people can spread their idiotic ideas.

I have tried the naturopathic approach and I ended up hurting myself and nearly dying of a heart attack.

  • @Donatello97 I will add that it does take time for these changes to take place. I was constipated for years, and once I began eating well and drinking plenty of water...I was still constipated! It took a number of different detoxification programs before I began moving by bowels on a daily basis, as I grew up eating junk food, and so it took time to correct this problem since I was eating this way for many years. So don't give up if it's been a few months, as it will take some time.

  • @Donatello97 Talk to your doctor not youtube.

  • And I've also heard that you must treat the adrenal glands before you treat the thyroid in which ever way you do it. I'm currently seeing a natural path, who has put me on a natural supplement called thyrocalm. I've been on it for less than a month and haven't seen any differrences regarding my symptoms. If anything it's made me feel a bit more tired, sluggish and i get this weird pressure in my head.

Anyways, I'm definitly going to look into a natural endo!

  • @Donatello97 Yes, you do need to address the adrenal glands first. As for the supplement you're taking, just keep in mind that many of these "thyroid support formulas" are a complete waste of money. Some of them do an okay job of managing the symptoms, but most don't, and of course none of them will help with the underlying cause of the condition.

  • @HyperthyroidismCure

    $200 well spent I suppose, not. :p

Let alone Mecury DMPS treatments cost $120 a pop. And i have to see my Naturo path to get my mercury level results since I've already had several of those DMPS treatments. Yet I've gained no signs of improvement regarding my symptoms. Vitamin B i hear is great for the adrenal glands. Anyways, again I think it's best if I saw a Natural Endo, since i'm really sketchy on droping more money with my NP since nothing is guaranteed.

  • @Donatello97 i would have a massage if i were you. sounds like you have an accumulation of energy blocks.. then start the treatment.. exercise generates energy, so sometimes its good to push through it.. what is in the tablets the naturopath gave you?

  • @SovereignBeing

It's called Thyrocalm. Doesn't seem to be do anything other than making me a bit more tired and sluggish. This is all too frustrating, i just wan't an answer. I've basically given up on general doctors, and nothing has happened so far with my NP regarding symptom changes with the treatments he's giving meand this and that. I mean it's cost me hundreds of dollars as well. I have to go back for my mercury level results, but meh...I just don't even feel like going.

  • @Donatello97 well i would go for results if u bothered to have test.. as i said stop drinking tap water/taking pharma drugs, i just bought some powdered tyrosine that has worked really well..there are things you can do through educating yrself & getting herbal remedies from the health food shop instead of paying for someone to tell you what to take.. there are a number of factors to the thyroid issue, as it often causes hormonal /adrenal imbalances as well.. so u need to address all these areas.

  • @SovereignBeing

Lol you can't even spell yrself properly.

    "drinking tap water/taking pharma drug".

I drink tap water and I have hypothyroidism. I've heard the argument that fluorine in the water causes hypothyroidism and aggravates the condition. In my personal experience I have never in my life felt that tap water is making my feel horrible/sluggish/depressed. You're basing your arguments on the bullshit studies all over the internet. I take synthyroid and I feel great.

  • @SovereignBeing

"exercise generates energy, so sometimes its good to push through it"

Is that the type of advice you would give to someone who is malnourished? LMAO EXERCISE!? Is that the type of advice you would give to someone who is starving? You're full of bull shit

  • Thanks for sharing! Currently i still don't have a diagnoses.

My mercury levels are high, my Thryoid free T4 is overactive yet my TSH and T3 are always normal, adrenal glands are always a bit high and my pituitary gland results come back low and high, along with other things such as high FBS ect ect. yet I eat healthy, and lay low on the stress....But I'm going to eleminate dairy from my diet, since it's bad for the thryoid right? same deal with refined sugars. ;p

  • @Donatello97 Yes, it's definitely a good idea to minimize the amount of refined foods and sugars you eat, as well as diary. You ideally want to try eating mostly whole foods. This doesn't mean you can never eat refined foods or dairy again, but most people eat way too much.

  • Thanks for sharing. Educative indeed.

  • @AfricanCentreforCom You're quite welcome!

  • Great info thx for sharing!

  • @AKIYIAKELLY You're very welcome! I'm glad you enjoyed it!
