Domestic rabbits do not have the same survival skills and instincts that wild rabbits have. so A. this rabbit shouldn't be left outside in weather cold enough to snow. B. Throwing him, no matter how soft the snow is, is mean and risky. Rabbits are easily hurt, their spines can twist and snap, they aren't cats. C. Shock can kill a rabbit. Frighten him enough by tossing him in the snow and he'll have a heart attack and die. D. gotta love idiots that don't do their research before getting a pet.

Throwing a rabbit in to cold snow would be an unexpected shock, it could cause heart attack- which rabbits are surprisingly prone to, domestic rabbits are fragile and could have easily have broken a bone upon impact or even in the air. Not to mention the risk of the rabbit catching hypothermia, which would easily kill them, look at it for the rabbits point of view.

The rabbit clearly isn't happy in the snow and i don't think you would be, being thrown in to icy snow. Besides although it may not appear to be in shock that doesn't stop it catching hypothermia or being frightened.

Guys, they aren't hurting the rabbits! You can clearly see that there is a lot of snow on the ground and it's cushioning their fall. If there hadn't been enough snow, I'm sure that they wouldn't have done as they did in the video. If the rabbits had been hurt, they wouldn't have been digging and playing in the snow. @seebyseebs this type of domestic rabbit really don't tolerate extreme temperatures, especially the heat. The cold may not kill them, but for this type of rabbit it's not very comfortable. You may be right that it's an instinctual response for survival.

For the people saying rabbits shouldn't be in the snow... Rabbits in burrows HAVE to come out sometime to get something eat. They survive. As an experienced rabbit handler, I can tell anyone they will be FINE. They have warm, fluffy coats that protect them from snow and wind.
