Seriously what's with Doctor Doom's finger laser joke????? Every time I go to any Doctor Doom's theme songs, people keep saying THE FINGER LASERS JOKE???? So what Doctor Doom's shoots lasers through his Fingers??? I really didn't get the joke???
Okay I do have to say this. Of all the arrange version that they do to make the mvc 3 music really try to come alive, I have to say that they really actually nailed with doom. All they did was accentuate it. Whenever I hear it I can see doom getting off that chair, or looking out over the battlements of his stronghold in Latveria..
This is alright, but Doom's benevolent, if you can call them that, intentions hardly ever show through like with most other characters. He is tyrant and villain through and through. Hence, it doesn't really fit that he has something that doesn't put you on edge or instill fear in you for a theme. I feel lot's of missed potential with this piece. Still good, but highly lacking...
@DarkX64 Agreed. I feel like this song is more for a villain that has a story which brings people to feel sympathetic. The theme is for a villain, and Doom is certainly a villain, but there's something to the music that makes you think, "maybe things would've been different if this or that didn't happen to him." Like with Magneto, yes, he's a villain, but there pieces to him that (should) cause one to feel sympathetic unto him -- and that's what this song would accentuate.
@DarkX64 The theme is perfect, it goes witht he pain and sadness to which Dooms life was. And he is a tyrant through and and through yes... but he wasnt always that way. I love Dr. Doom one of the best villians!
@johneagle0066 Well fine, I can admit to being wrong that he's a 100% tyrant with no human interior, but my point of him still being a near 24/7 badass who never takes no for an answer still stands. It's fine that the theme includes an allusion to his more humane side, but he's more villain than man. I was trying to say that, for who he is, having something hinting a sad past is fine, but the menace just isn't there to me. Ya dig?

Though Dr. Doom does what he does for those that he loves, he gives little to no afterthought of the consequences of those actions. That's what separates him and the Punisher.
This is way more fitting for Doom than MVC3's theme. I know it's basically the same song but this one has a slightly more darker feel to it than the MVC3 one.
Simply outrageously good, i love that music, and the stage was awsome, perfect, my favorite choice when playing, majestic, powerfull, and evil MUwahahahahaa....

Listen this music, and look at dr.doom, makes him cool, and nice, makes him more human even being a evil human nature.

@AztecJester280 there are some reasons as to why the fantastic four aren't put in. The Thing would be too similar to Hulk, Human Torch's fire effect would mess up the framerate somehow, Invisible doesn't have much physical fighting abilities and Mr. Fantastic, I dont know.
This game and children of the atom had some great promo artwork, music and gameplay. I know its really easy to get an emulator for these games but if the games where realeased again i would buy them in a heartbeat.
I've never been a fan of comic books. At one point in time I even disliked them. But recently I went to a friend's house and we played Marvel VS. Capcom 3. I got hooked. The game got me interested in the characters, and I decided to read a little on their backgrounds.
Dr. Doom is pure awe to me now, one of my favorite characters ever, of anything I've ever read. Great design, complex persona, amazing portrayal.
For the most part I regret not getting into comics back when I was a child.
@Laertes00 What solidified Doom being my favorite character (not necessarily my favorite to play in MvC3) is if He and Dormammu are both point on their respective teams. When that happens they have a little exchange that goes like this:
Dormammu: "I have no further use for you, Doom."
Dr. Doom: *steps off his floating pimp chair* "This dimension isn't big enough for the both of us." *folds arms across chest* Pure badassery at its finest.

I am having a hard time finding the comics that revolve around his background story. There are some more recent sagas like one called "Unthinkable," released in 2003 I believe. But I was told Doom is not really at its best in those issues.
@Laertes00 More recent ones have him play a more straightforward "bad to the bone" villain. Gotta dig a further back (unfortunately) to look more into his complex nature as regal and perhaps arrogant and the arguableness of his "evil" and "mercy"

@Laertes00 You are not alone. I had the exact same experience as you, right down to getting hardcore into comics thanks to Marvel vs. Capcom 3, falling in love with Doom, and regretting not being into comics back when I was younger.
@Laertes00 I too wasn't into comics what got me hooked was this marvel encycloedia I bought. It has a lot of characters and profiles. when MVC3 came out with characters like taskmaster and x23 Iooked them up in the enclopedia (I didn't know my book had info on them). but for more detailed information on characters I go to marvel wiki and wikipedia. For instance have you heard of howard the duck? and you may think rocket racoon is weird.
Now i got a few more like world war hulk and iron man.
@mansuru I had no idea who Nova and Rocket Racoon were before the UMvC3 leak. Haha. Both of them are pretty interesting characters. Since I posted that comment I've been checking out classic stuff... Like the Fantastic Four, of course. But after reading about RR I might leave those aside and take a look at the cosmic side of Marvel.
Marvel would be extra awesome if they got their animation studio together and put out some awesome stuff like DC's animation studio.. They should definitely get this same composer as well, all of the music on X-MEN and Marvel Superheroes sounded straight out of the Marvel Universe like it was meant for it .. Doom's new theme sounds awesome, but there's just something I like about the original better.
@inkmage80 Lionsgate used to release animated Marvel movies, but stopped after Planet Hulk, I think. It might have something to do with Disney buying Marvel, but I don't know.
Its a remix from his first game he was a fighter in...Thats what they are doing to all of the characters hence why morrigian's theme is not from MVC1 Thats why I can't wait to her Lei Lei's theme from vampire savior.

@Laertes00 What solidified Doom being my favorite character (not necessarily my favorite to play in MvC3) is if He and Dormammu are both point on their respective teams. When that happens they have a little exchange that goes like this:
Dormammu: "I have no further use for you, Doom."
Dr. Doom: *steps off his floating pimp chair* "This dimension isn't big enough for the both of us." *folds arms across chest* Pure badassery at its finest.

@Laertes00 Which comics should I read if I want a good glimpse at Doom's story? I'm not sure if it's as easy as jumping into random issues of the Fantastic Four.

@OgnarPliskin For now I've just been looking over old comics and seeing Doctor Doom having a blast against the Fantastic Four. Pretty standard, but I am liking it.
I am having a hard time finding the comics that revolve around his background story. There are some more recent sagas like one called "Unthinkable," released in 2003 I believe. But I was told Doom is not really at its best in those issues.

@Laertes00 More recent ones have him play a more straightforward "bad to the bone" villain. Gotta dig a further back (unfortunately) to look more into his complex nature as regal and perhaps arrogant and the arguableness of his "evil" and "mercy"

@Laertes00 You are not alone. I had the exact same experience as you, right down to getting hardcore into comics thanks to Marvel vs. Capcom 3, falling in love with Doom, and regretting not being into comics back when I was younger.

@Laertes00 I too wasn't into comics what got me hooked was this marvel encycloedia I bought. It has a lot of characters and profiles. when MVC3 came out with characters like taskmaster and x23 Iooked them up in the enclopedia (I didn't know my book had info on them). but for more detailed information on characters I go to marvel wiki and wikipedia. For instance have you heard of howard the duck? and you may think rocket racoon is weird.
Now i got a few more like world war hulk and iron man.

@mansuru I had no idea who Nova and Rocket Racoon were before the UMvC3 leak. Haha. Both of them are pretty interesting characters. Since I posted that comment I've been checking out classic stuff... Like the Fantastic Four, of course. But after reading about RR I might leave those aside and take a look at the cosmic side of Marvel.
With that said... Recommendations, anyone?

@Laertes00 just read the Books of Doom and Secret Wars. Both incredible stories that shows how awesome is Victor Von Doom.

Marvel would be extra awesome if they got their animation studio together and put out some awesome stuff like DC's animation studio.. They should definitely get this same composer as well, all of the music on X-MEN and Marvel Superheroes sounded straight out of the Marvel Universe like it was meant for it .. Doom's new theme sounds awesome, but there's just something I like about the original better.

@inkmage80 Lionsgate used to release animated Marvel movies, but stopped after Planet Hulk, I think. It might have something to do with Disney buying Marvel, but I don't know.

Its a remix from his first game he was a fighter in...Thats what they are doing to all of the characters hence why morrigian's theme is not from MVC1 Thats why I can't wait to her Lei Lei's theme from vampire savior.
