  • God I miss the 60's.

  • @anneshuck huh I thought you are younger :)

  • Jimmy Page on lead guitar.

  • Van the Man.

  • i read about this song, because the grateful dead used this riff...

  • I found this song after reading about the inspiration for 'Caution' by the Grateful Dead. Good stuff.

  • Van was as good as Keith Relf on that A Blues harp in the 60s....

  • Outstanding.

  • 60's rock and roll at its finest! Good job, Sids60sSounds!

  • culled from a 10 minute jam.The intro isn't the real intro

  • @tatunkha would love to hear the jam.

  • OH MY GOD this song rocks

  • My favorite Them song.

  • one of the best rock n roll songs ever imo, it's got so much energy ... love richard cory too.. thx for the upload

  • mad game!!!!!

  • spin that 45 man!

  • kickass.

  • I always thought this was the Animals with Eric Burden. Van Morrison fucking rocks.. absolutely timeless.

  • Raw - honest. The bass player and drummer put down a more than solid foundation - then the hypnotic guitar riffs, and Van's harmonica and asskicking vocals....... Them was the epitome of the 60's British Invasion - these guys could blow the Stones or Beatles off the stage.

  • what about the keys?

  • most cool to drift back... way back

  • the eye of the needle*

    xÖx

  • Sure sounds like the Yardbirds. What a pair Van and Jimmie would have been, or Jeff Beck. Oh wait, they did that.

  • Its like a cross between early Stones and The Animals, although more like the latter

  • Loved this in the Sopranos...outstanding talent

  • @PeppermintPillow.. Yes! I'd forgotten about this song until that Sopranos scene, nice call Peppermint.

  • @cameronobscura22 how could one ever forget this number?

  • doors meets stones. Great track !

  • Van Morrison at the beginning of his prime...What a great song..

  • First heard this on a Sopranos episode and was spellbound.

  • This still puts fucking chills down my spine so many years later. I can remember going crazy the first time I ever heard this on my Dad's car radio when I was 10. The quickest two and a half minutes of rock n roll and quite possibly the greatest rock n roll song ever recorded.

  • sounds a bit better than Mick Jagger...

  • Celtic visionarity meets Delta blues XD . I love this tune.

  • @Nostalgico80 kinda reminds me of alot of 60s bands, one that comes to mind is the yardbirds. but sense i havent heard them in about 120 years either, maybe ill go check them out now

  • sounds a bit like Mick Jagger

  • Pure 60s acid.

  • Had this song on an old eight track in 1969 "The Greatest Hits from England. vol 2", what was really stunning is from this raw and rocking piece the next selection was "Everyone's gone to the Moon, by Jonathan King, a complete 90 degree change, like taking a ride in a jet boat then stepping into a canoe and have someone else paddle.

  • One of the best songs ever made :-)

  • you could'nt beat THEM with a big stick !!!

  • everything thats awsome happens in hyde park?

    neat video ha

  • everything thats awsome happens in hyde park?

  • Today....back then...anytime...I challenge you to come up with a song that showcases the energy and primalness of what true rock & roll is all about any better than Mystic Eyes....smokin tune...It says it all...yeah!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @latawie The Yardbirds (from England) also had "Teeth" in their garage band sound back then and were WAY ahead of their time....of course Jeff Beck, Eric Clapton and Jimmy Page were all in the Yardbirds at one time or another!!! Hmmmm.......maybe a connection there? ;-)

  • Van Morrison is a far better vocalist than Mick Jagger... but you could almost hear the imitatio.

  • This Great Song has the Rolling Stones Mona Flavor

    Great Song

  • very good track from them, reminds me of the stones just a bit in the sound of his voice

  • Makes me feel so good.

Try this one. Unbelievable! Robert vd Lippe Mystic Eyes

  • How I remember Decca Records -it brings back old memories and all of the records I had, including this one- long stolen from me

  • One Fantastic Song From the 60's

    KRLA 1110 AM Pasadena California

    Dave Hull Lives Still

    L.A. Needs a 60's Oldies Radio Station

KRTH is is just not the same Great Radio Station it use to be.

KRTH is still Good Could be better

  • @TL250Rider 1906,s first half L.A. it was KRLA , KHJ , KFWB , second half it was FM time KLOS KMET

  • I heard this song back in the 60's, at Ellard-James Moose Boles house, it was the first time i heard Them and Van Morrison.. a turning point in my life. Rock and Roll... baby...

  • Still holds water

  • if i beat down somebody in my life i will do that whit this song playing in background.... :D

  • Waouw I still alive !

  • And this was just a B side on the original release.

  • Page said the band really resented him being used on these recordings. But Page had a very characteristic way of setting his amplification and, in my opinion, he plays about 90% of the lead on both of the Them albums. You can really tell it is him on some of the tunes, like "Could You, Would You".

  • The 4X4 time of this classic, was for its time envolking as to cause one to get up nd dance the night away. The Church did not approve. Buy their records only. JJD'A

  • One Sunday mornin' We went walkin'

Down by the old graveyard, and then I looked into those Mystic Eyes.

  • That intro is pure Bo Diddley.

  • Great song and Great Band from Northern Ireland.

  • Anybody read Drop City by T. C. Boyle?

  • @regisgoat thats why i searched this song on youtube ;-)

  • This song really builds and takes no prisoners. great harmonica.

  • I believe a Very Young Jimmy Page is Playing Guitar in this Wonderful Great Song

  • @TL250Rider Page is playing rythmn guitar. The group always says this in interviews. See wikipedia.

  • @TL250Rider Oh my! I never knew but this sounds so very much like him!! Phantastic sound :-) Thank you for the info.

  • Unforgettable...Creepy and full of a punk attitude full of death and despair that rocked...

  • Where's "Mighty Like A Rose"?!!!

  • Van and band do such a remarkable rave up. As good as it gets and equal to Astral Weeks.

  • van kicks ass

  • Them...Van Morrison!! The best....G.L.O.R.I.A. and of coures, BABY PLEASE DON'T GO....

  • Never heard this song before but I love it!

  • My son did a tribute to THEM

Look at Robert vd Lippe on you tube

I'm a big fan of Van Morrison. Always was and always will be. Look how I indoctrinated my son with this

  • anyone remember combat jackets worn around 1964, i had THEM written on the back of mine , great song, great band, i`ve still got the 45, good times.

  • COOL TUNE I LOVE THIS

  • V.M.THEM in the early years this song would wake

you up MYSTIC EYES love the intro what a sound

    thanks SIDS60sSOUNDS for posting

  • A kick ass A + classic! Didn't I hear somewhere that Jimmy Page played lead guitar on some of Them's songs as a session musician? Still, it's awesome!

  • I love this early stuff.

  • I wish I could have lived through these days of early garage rock!

  • ME TO SO DO I MY FRIEND

  • A little Bo Diddley on the beat, a little Mick Jagger on the vocals, a little Beatles on the harmonica--great stuff! Thanks for posting.
