Gordon Ramsay is a terrible role model. And I feel like puking when women say he's sexy. Jamie Oliver is a hero and a million times more attractive. That was mean to make fun of Jamie and makes me dislike Gordon even more. He called Jamie fat. Unacceptable! He should look in the mirror sometime. He looks ancient for his age. Not that that matters, but when a person is ugly on the inside, it shows.
I've noticed that myself. We seem to present the sincere interviews with the intellectual and insightful questions. Our neighbors to the south seem to simply show a sheer entertainment value in their interviews. This is in general of course and I don't mean any negativity to the majority of American media.
@Makonu2 I'm in the US and love my Canadian neighbors. Your part of North America isn't as brainwashed by what I refer to as the "Hollywood cult" spreading over the West into the East. I can't stand TV anymore because it's so plastic. Even CNN buys into it. A few talented journalists, both young and older women, have gone under major plastic surgery because of the obsession of youth and beauty. Evil! What's wrong with aging gracefully and respecting our elders? And the commerials are obnoxious.
@blueguitarblue Very kind words. We have our share of shallowness up here as well, though. So does every other country, for that matter. Finding a way to offset it with "decent media" is all that really needs to be done to keep viewers on track. It's all about balance, right? Q TV and The Hour are two of our methods to accomplish this feat. You're right about the "Hollywood cult", though. It does seem to suck the substance out of anything that once was good media wise down there, doesn't it?
@Makonu2 Holy cow! Don't you know it. I hate it. Children/elderly/community/family should be front-page news! Our values as a nation are warped by the "cult" and capitalism. Hang in there you hoser! ;p
@Makonu2 Hi Neighbor! How does Canada feel about Jim Carrey becoming a U.S. citizen? I read he received some slack about it. I love Leonard Cohen and The Tragically Hip. Did you know that the song by Cohen "Chelsea Hotel" was about Cohen and Janis Joplin in NY? I was named after Janis Joplin. She was amazing! Joplin, Jim Morrison (Doors), Brian Jones (Rolling Stones), and I think Jimi Hendrix all died at age 27. I'm not sure about Hendrix, but the other three were 27 years old. Creepy, huh?
@Makonu2 weren't u on "Star Search", sucking yer feeble old daddy off? what an intellect u..don't have..retard. oh..and America sez...wipe yer ass, skunk boy. own u...totally!!!
@TheTwentyFour Absolutely. Canada also have 'The Hour' which is intelligent and thoughtful. I'm from the UK, I'd say we're somewhere in between. I'd say our hosts are more intelligent than US hosts on average but far too much time is still spent on audience pandering and silliness. Shows like this are what we need. Charlie Rose is awesome though.

I could not watch this interview in its entirety, which is a first for me and Qtv. This guy is a self-important rude jerk. I've watched his TV show twice, and he is unnecessarily rude and insulting to the people that he "helps." The comments that he makes are personal, having nothing to do with the problem for which he is there. He is adding to the rude "say anything" culture we have today. Manners, hopefully, will never go out of style.
@wcduke You're preaching to the choir. He's a professional bully. And the mob mentality that supports his abusive tactics is a sad reflection of where we are in history.
My two favorite people in one place... again. Jian is an amazing interviewer. Seriously. He does his homework, he seems genuinely interested in what people bring to the table. Props to Jian. Ramsay is simply amazing. His energy and his skills are something all chefs aspire too.
He looks good. Relaxed and healthy..Good intelligent interview

I would really love to see another interview between the two. It's been over two years, Ramsay's life has changed quite a bit. Someone make it happen

excellent interview. I had no idea this was a canadian show.
I always wondered what would happen if Gordon Ramsay continued his futbol career instead of becoming a chef.

Best Ramsey interview on the net, quite frankly. I wish tv in the states here was as nuanced and thoughtful as our Canadian friends to the north.

I have been a professional cook for 35 years and
during that time I have heard EVERYceleb chef make
the pronouncement that they only use fresh
seasonal local ingredients as though it were a new
and innovative idea. The locovore diet is repackaging
angryislander56 2 years ago 3
Isn't the attempt to use as much local as possible a positive ? Fresh King Crab legs in Sask., won't happen, unless they are flown in.
reginaron 2 years ago
Yes it is a positive.
Just not a new positive.
Only a new name.
