  • san jose's my home town!!!!

  • [Continued] Yellow water and bubbles is definitely not a solid indication that it is E. coli. Fourthly, microbes are nearly everywhere. In fact, on and in our bodies, there are 9x as many bacterial cells as there are our own (not that bacterial cells are significantly smaller). Lastly, there are many strains of E. coli, and most of them, probably about 95% of them, are harmless to humans. Some of them even live inside us naturally. This was an awful experiment.

  • @SquirrellOFC *note* that bacterial cells...*

  • First of all, it's E. coli - note the 'c' isn't capitalised. Second of all, your aseptic technique was terrible. To prevent contamination, you shouldn't have put the lids on the table and you should have flamed the 'broth' tubes when introducing the microbes. Thirdly, your identification technique was just all wrong - you should have done a streak plate on nutrient agar and then sub-cultured each microbe that grew, or you could have used a selective media that only grows E. coli.

  • why is Phone Booth = Super Sayajin 4 ??

  • @PlzKillMeSoftly because its OVER 9000!!!!!!!!!!

  • @Cryptonic25 and it makes me not even want to use it because if something extremely harmful is left over, all the good and protective bacteria on my skin won't be there to fight it off, and my hands will be more vulnerable. i just don't like hand sanitizer!

  • ...this makes me not want to touch anything

  • I agree with him on the porta-potty....those things are freaking terrifying

  • in my seminar class we made samples of bacteria and mine was the beat, it was from the water fountain in our gym and the 2nd best is from a kids penis 3rd is from a urinal 5th is from a toilet the rest were negative

  • @mcwario13 ummmmmmmmm, did you just type a kids penis? Because that is very messed up

  • @minecraftbessness um maybe you dont uderstand ill type it again ok?, so we took tape and stuck it to anything that we thought had lots of bacteria mine was the most infected and i stuck my tape to a water fountain handle button thing. the one that got 2nd place was held bye a kid who put his tape on his penis. Our teacher said we could put it on anything.

  • You should tell that to scientists..

  • SSJ4. !!

  • positive positive super sayain 4 it has to be over 9000!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • how port o potty could not have e coli if e coli is shit bacteria

  • ecoli = shit

  • test a keyboard

  • Wow lol

  • XD ssj(9)

  • Now we know to stay away from cotton swabs.

  • i say webs.com is better

  • Lol Ssj4

  • How can you tell it's E. Coli?

  • @ShadowiGeneral its an e coli test

  • lol i was in san josee not long ago i was there for 2 mouth

  • C'est ce Bon was in San Jose. Long live C'est ce Bon!!!

  • For example, Herpes is not just an STD The media hype of pathogens attempts to scare people to be TOO careful. Tuberculosis is a big media disease that they say STAY AWAY FROM ANYONE WITH IT. when in fact, unless you living with that person and sharing a bed it is virtually impossible to catch it. to wrap things up hand sanitizers and antimicrobial soaps are in most cases BAD. it kills your normal flora (good bacteria) and unless your a surgeon or need a sterile environment DONT USE IT.

  • THIS VIDEO IS HIGHLY MISLEADING!! bacteria is EVERYWHERE (Even Escherichia Coli) HOWEVER - most of the strains of e-coli are perfectly harmless towards humans. We even have a ton of it in our digestive tract (however that strain needs to stay there... anywhere else its bad) a strong STRONG majority of the bacteria inhabiting the earth can peacefully co-exist with humans. Even some bacteria and virus's you may have heard about are only one species of that genes (Continued above)

  • So you think ppls cellphones, keyboards, etc, are cleaner? nope not if you dont clean them every 2 days. And if you keep things to clean, your body & immune system will be weaker to bacteria.

  • At 2:24 , what was the "chemical testing agent" that was added to the vials? Any help would be greatly appreciated!

  • @ShadowiGeneral water thats it

  • @ducttapedood66 so if i just put those cotton swabs in plain water, i'll get the same results?

  • How come it takes three minutes just to swab the port-o-potty seat and door?

  • where do you get the kit?

  • MAYBE THE PORT O POTTY SEAT HAD WAY TOO MUCH E. COLI THAT IT CAN'T EVEN BE YELLOW.

  • I got E coli from playing with my shit.

  • At 2:24 what "chemical testing agent" was added to the vials?

  • YEWE SAN JOOO I LIVE HERE!!

  • I live in san jose

  • 1:01 hidden penis 1:18 giant hidden penis

  • .....the phone booths infection level is OVER 9000!!!!!!

  • @xavier8994 wow fail

  • Lol @ the SSJ4

  • I ate dirt and bugs growing up. I got over strep throat when i was 6 without any medication or antibiotics. I never wash my hands unless I get some obvious poop on them. Consequently, I haven't gotten so much as a cold in 20 years.

  • what pill did you guys put on the vials? :o

  • lolz ssj4! XD

  • haha dbz reference thats classic

  • Why is he telling us to wash our hands a lot? Thats what makes our immune systems weak, not being exposed 2 germs. Its like putting a lion that's lived in the zoo all its life in the wild.

  • 3:15 More like the foam booth :D Hoheehee :P

  • That was pretty interesting. Although next time if you do do something like that you have to keep everything sterile. the water was not sterile even though you got it distilled (it needs to be autoclaved) and the swabs are not sterile once they are exposed to the air. For number 4 since it was red and did not bubble im assuming it was a lactose or glucose nutrient base. The yellow color is due to the acid by-product from E-coli. If it was red at 25C then it is Serratia Marcescens

  • Yes, that's why i carry hand-sanitizers nearly everywhere. haha

  • @KrnSniper01 face mask and latex gloves

  • @KrnSniper01 The cover of the hand-sanitizers might have E Coli too AHHHH!!!!

  • @ZincAboveGround YES!! very valid point. That's why i even sanitize the exterior.

And before entering the computer lab, i get a handful of sanitizer and make sure i put them on keyboard/mouse etc.

  • @KrnSniper01 but if you use it tomuch it becomes mroe harm then good <.<

  • @CorvetteStingray75 Thank you for letting me know.

But, i'd like to know why, is it because of chemicals?

  • @KrnSniper01 yes and no. when you put hand sanitizer on your hands (usually 99.97%) the left over germs that DID survive will reproduce and it will carry the gene that made it survived. ALSO when you are to clean your white blood cells wont witness any "battle" as compared to someone who hahs been living in a trash

  • @KrnSniper01 did you know there is particals from your shit that lands on food all around the house so basically your slightly eating some of your shit

  • @KrnSniper01 even if you use a hand sanitizer that kills 99.9% of bacteria, there are still well over 1,000,000 at least

  • @livi1016 Not to mention; Do we ever stop to ask why that .1% isnt killed? and what happens when that .1% starts to reproduce? Doesn't it seem that the .1% would create a resistant strain of the bacteria that simply WONT be killed by the sanitizer any more. Hrm...

  • @KrnSniper01 I honestly don't like hand sanitizer. Washing hands get's the bacteria off, while sanitizer only kills it XD

  • i was runnning in the park and somone droped a portapoty amd there was shit everywhere

  • lol E Coli under my nose made me think of the dirty sanchez

  • DBZ FOEVA!!!!!!

  • Ecoli is for most strains natural to the human body and is necessary for digestion this is a crap test for that reason there is nothing to suggest that these were strains that are harmful and also washing your hands isn't effective many bacteria have evolved resistance to bacteria because of the over use of antibiotics so you may not catch a cold but you are creating bacteria that have no cure

  • wowo

  • ssj4 has black hair. you mean ssj3

  • HΔLLΩ

  • I love science

  • Those glasses are so dark you look blind son.

  • dammit! why did i watch this video Dx

  • phone booth went super saiyan 4 and blasted people with its super e coli attack

  • i think i have the same sofa as you

  • FK i live in Sanjose do u happen to be in Alum rock park in the beginning??

  • i was eating a cupcake while watching this...

  • its over 9000!!!!

  • I love how super saiyan 4 was referencing to how yellow the phone booth test was

  • O.O

  • Haha #9 was ssj 4 someone's a dragon ball fan.

  • E.Coli is something we use in college.. :) It's very safe if it isn't a certain strain.

  • The title contradicts itself O.O

  • Well done video!

  • Should've taken a swab from money

  • gross

  • OMG SAN JOSE I LIVE THERE :DDD

  • So I learned that people take shits and touch pretty much everything without washing their hands. Great!

  • E.coli is common intestinal flora, people are freaked by E.coli because ONE of the strain of E.coli is dangerous which was known thru media about the town of walkerton.

  • Even Bear Grylls wouldn't drink from a porta-potty.

  • biggest sellout

  • E. Coli is usually located in the intestinal tract, so its quiet interesting that you will find it nearly everywhere, but not so much on the toilet. As E. Coli usually lives in a symbiosis with the human body, it is of course nothing like a disease, but in case it appears in greater number, it's metabolism substances may cause a sickness.

  • I washed my hands after watching this

    :(

  • lol

ufcores is you eat or drick it?

  • i bet he took off his sunglasses after every line he said....

  • @LolTechTutorials I know its possible but if that were the case in urine then that person would have a urinary tract infection :[

  • Note to self: stop licking the phones in the phone booths.

  • cool

  • DBZ reference made my day!

  • @360skier101

    when is it?

  • @Householdhacker Just curious, why didn't you use potato dextrose agar in a petri dish? That is what I have used before when I have cultivated samples for experiments.

  • those puns... KILL ME ALREADY.

  • losing weight!!!!! winning!!!!

  • i thought you were going to give you brother e coli as a prank

  • super sayin 4

  • fuck super saiyen 4 ssj3 would totally win gt sucks

  • Seriously, just f****** hold it

  • coming from a microbiology background, i just wanna point out that there are different strains of bacteria, such as E. coli... so not every bacteria is necessarily pathogenic. nevertheless, washing your hands is a good practice.

  • So... Rationality check here... If E Coli is on just about everything in the world that we touch and we aren't constantly becoming violently ill, then why bother with this little experiment? Doesn't this just fuel hysteria without actually providing any benefit? Just a thought.

  • @ppardee I guess he said something at the end that cleared your point up lol

  • if the bacteria is on the door of the Port-o-potty it can easy be transferred to the seat.......and if its on the seat it can get on my nuts. Deadly virus chilling on my ball bag is real scary

  • lol just fucking hold it

  • @dannypantsgm Ah lol :P

  • Don't wash your hands too often, there are several bacteria on the outside of our skin that we actually need to be fully protected ;)

  • 3:24 positive has no comparison grade.

  • Positive ssj4 lmao

  • 0,8,7 "we've all read about people who keep washing your cell phone"

  • just f*cking hold it XD 4:48

  • lol SSJ4 (super sayian 4)

  • HAHAH ssj4

  • You should have swabbed the washroom faucet as well....so we know whether we SHOULD be washing our hands.

  • You should test your cellphone .. it's probably just as bad :D

  • What does the scouter say about the port o pottys handle e coli level? ITS OVER 9000!!!!!
