@MaartenTheBoss I hate to burst that French bubble of yours, but the Gurkhas are still around. One was just just awarded one of Britain's highest military award for holding off a group of Taliban fighters single-candidly. As for the FFL still having an office in Marseilles, that's all fine and dandy but I have yet to hear any recent news about them. I know that the Gurkhas are so respected that the Queen, this very day, keeps a group of them around as part of her personal security force. :oD

@Arnazisti and lets not forget Dien Bien Phu in the year 1954. Th United States should have never been involved in Vietnam and the cause was all wrong. It is all because the French wanted to maintain thier power over Indochina and our country was stupid for getting involved. In the end communism pales in comparison as a threat when we look at the terrorist we helped to fight communism.

The Aussie representing the legion seems like a racist, ethnocentric, and vindictive ass towards the ghurka. The French are most known for surrender and it makes sense that thier most durable soldiers came from other countries. That being said I think it was smart of the French to create the legion which I have alot of respect for. Green Berets must me trained in other languages but Legionares bring other languages to the outfit and are trained in French.
