I feel like the whole idea of the portable tablet is based around the fact that people are tired of hauling around heavy hardware that they never utilize %100. So the solution is to reduce what we know as a computer down to the bare minimum needed to get what everybody does anyway on computers which is emails, videos, photos, music and social networking. Think of it like giving a ping pong contender steroids for muscle enhancement. It's not like he'll have anymore of an advantage at winning

you actually are right, laptops can do all sort of work and are more compitable, for tablets , its only good when u have another primary device to do the remaining work. For the portable internet , i think a good smart phone can do the picture and web contents sharing with friends and family, i totally agree what tablets are lacking is a full OS, i dont know why microsoft and apple are not doing anything to bring a full OS on the tablet.

It's obvious that a laptop has a lot more functionality than a tablet and it's more productive in creating and editing videos, photos, music, etc.. One thing for sure is that tablets have a much better battery life and for portability it's a no brainer.
I think Tablets are cool and they are the future of portable computers but right now, a decent laptop will continue to trump a tablet simply because their is so much more you can do on a laptop compared to a tablet. I like having a mouse and keyboard to interact with, especially a mouse since playing PC 1st person shooters with a mouse and keyboard beats any game you can play on a touchscreen. Even beats console FPS with controllers.

Nvidia and other arm companies are gonna make sure that tablets replace pcs because of how fast arm is getting. For me to buy a table i would need 4gb ram, 256gb ssd, qaud core A15 or 8 core A15 and a 1366x768 res or higher.

There are laptops light, with a long battery life, and cheaper than the lowest end iPad. If you're going to spend $600 on a ultra-portable computer, might as well pick a laptop over a tablet. IMO at the way these new tablets are currently, I wouldn't spend more than $300-400 on one. They're trying to sell you a touchscreen computers with specs lower than the first Eee pc.
@korwinblue I'm of course replying to 0:38 Talking about prefering a Tablet over a laptop? That has to be a desktop replacement! Ya, I'd prefer carrying a tablet around the house over my Alienware M17x... than again, I'd rather carry my 11 inch HP over the M17x as well :P
