  • These guys from cornford need to go mainstream. They have great product sell them on musician friends or guitar center in USA like Marshall and all the other from over the water . If a Marshall 100 slp super lead is 2,300 then why would this 50 watt be 4000 ? Both are coming from same place . Not a single dealer they have here in us even has this amp ?

  • @CHIPDADDY1000 have a look at the most recent video I uploaded. ;) The guy who builds these for cornford (this is just speculation) is now rumored to be building the new jet city earhart 50. Identical control layout and inner circuitry looks identical as well. I think for legal reasons, no one has said it is specifically the 50 MKII but the dots all connect.

  • 4,000 for the head and 1,400 for cab and you think that is cheap ? And 50 watts at that geez how much money do you make in that music store?

  • @CHIPDADDY1000 Us brits get shit deals on american made amps because they need to be sent over, and a bunch of other crap gets added on. Ends up ridiculous really. But because cornford are British we get them at the best price, while you (Im guessing youre american/canadian) have to pay the equivalent price increase for something like a mesa for us.

  • Why scoop mids?!?! I always find that playing with the mids relatively high gets you that crushing chug sound loved by many metal players!

  • Hi Rob,

what are the channels on the MK50? (not the II)

    Cheers.

  • @slimmetalpickn IMHO this can be consider sort of a UE Soldano Slo...they are not extremely similar but one can remind the other imho...consider that,at least here in italy, the SLO costs around 3700-4200€ so that's the same :D

  • The Les Paul is out of tune. The amp sounds lovely though, until you started playing metal! Would love to hear a side by side with the original MK50. This would probably be my first choice of amp.

  • Best review! <3

  • good demo...i was looking for a 50w amp considering this cornford almost tempted but cant get rid of the soldano slo.... the soldano is just that little bit more the bollox.... none the less nice amp and demo.... id have one if i had money to blow

  • G'day mate, I used to own a Conford MK I 50 and I loved the versality of sounds from the cleans to the heavy gain; it was the perfect amp until my ear caught on to something I couldn't get over; and that is that the notes are clipped during fast runs. I can actually hear the notes still being clipped on the MK II when you did fast runs. A shame because I've not found another amp like it. I tried the Ritchie Kotzen but wasn't to my liking tonally and I don't like signiture amps either. Cheers

  • I thought Cornford were low gain amps... I really like the sound of this Head :)

  • @Lgw1984 Cornford is definitely over the top and a pleasure to hear. I like Egnater Renegade though. I also like the Engl Fireball 100 as well as the Hughes and Kettner Switcblade TSC 100. Other amps that are good are Laney and the Mesa Boogie Dual Rectifiers. It would be a pretty difficult choice to choose from. Im partial for the Egnater Renegade though and then the Engl Fireball 100 and my third choice would be the Hughes and Kettner Switchblade TSC 100. Just a preference. All are good.

  • Chappers! You Must Come To The States My Man!

  • I mean no disrespect, and I know that you have to make a living. It's just that you're advertising all sorts. I picked up a hellcat last week which I'm very happy with, but I know you'd plug a line 6 spider if the price was right. I can't take any of this seriously. Also, pcb vs handwired? Don't they sell the Roadhouse too?

Try turning down the gain a bit, and making more out of each note. I know you can play, but you're not doing yourself justic here.

  • sounds very stevie ray vaughanish

  • Hmm... monkey string cleaner, maybe this will lead me to the temple of monkey shred?

  • I just have to say Tron rules, nice one Andertons! I plan on getting out there one day, thanks for your support!

    Wally

    Cornford USA

  • Chappers, now you've got me GASing over a Cornford, and I'm in the US... Can you even get one over here?

  • hey what riff does chappers play at 8:15? i know ive heard it somewhere b4 and its pissing me off that i can't remember lol

  • ritchie kotzen uses cornford

  • guy in Bossk used to use a Cornford MK50. Sounded amazing live! Other guitarist used a Sunn Model T.

  • £2000 eh? I'd love one.

  • Play some Peavey amps!

  • pls do a review of the rk 100 richie kotzen cornford head !!

  • filth....such a good word!

  • DONT SCOOP MIDS!! ESPECIALLY WITH EMGS!!!!

emgs sound like shit to begin with, and scooping mids is not good, if anything scoop the highs.

  • always on the run!

  • The mic's did pick up the bass. Sounds absolutely awesome !

  • I WANT ONE!!!

  • I have a Halequin, bottom of the range and it's a brilliant studio amp .. I'd love one of these bad boys.

  • maaaaan, i wanna meet you in person. ROB FTW!

  • @dil173 me 2... NO HOMO!!!

  • Great amp.

    EHX Cathedrals are fantastic pedals.

  • That Cornford actually sounds really nice, just it seems like it needs just a tiny bit more for metal, maybe an overdrive pedal.

Even though I'm an American and would prefer it if people in England purchased US products - if I was English I would probably be more inclined to purchase a locally made amp. So all you Brits over in the UK, support your local economy - you guys make some great equipment, don't let the Chinese ruin your industry :)

  • The amp to me just sounds really bright. Maybe that's for some people, I'm not necessarily digging the bright. Is the tone great? Absolutely, it sounds wonderful. Just the big adjective I would use to describe it is "bright". Good review, Chappers, as always.

  • I've never liked Confords. I have no idea why. I'm just not a fan of their tone. Even in your hands they aren't growing on me. I guess that's why there are thousands of companies out there.

  • That's nice and all, but how loud is a...?

    Cornford MK50 MKII

  • I Bow Before Cornford...Very sweet sounding

  • seems suuper versatile. i like it a lot

  • how loud do you demo these amps? are you playing at "livingroom levels", "small club levels", "concert hall levels"

  • Dear Mr. Monkey Lord Rob Chappers, The spalted maple on the LTD id beautiful! Just thought I'd let you know!

  • WANT :O

  • Chappers, if you could tell me how you do that lick at 6:09, I'd really appreciate it :D

  • So chapstick... what's the thoughts on Justin beaver?

  • Hey Rob you planning on hosting any clinics in Canada? :D

  • @Rushisftw I'd love to mate - you book, i'll play ;-)

  • @RobChappers Haha I'd love to book you but unfortunately I don't think I can afford it being a 19 year old college student :P Oh well I'll have to come to Britain to see you play :D

  • @RobChappers Really? I'd love to do that...

  • Lenny Kravitz!

I was listening to that today, funky riff.

  • stick rooles!

  • Wow...

1 more for the GAS list maybe..

  • It sounds like the least-forgiving amp in the world...

  • i would buy this right now if i had any money

  • I need that trouser flapping tone.

  • they're no doubt good amps but im not a big fan. to me they just sound kinda thin and not that beefy.

  • A little bit of funk in there, Chappers. Like it!

  • My God that amp has been hand crafted by the metal gods

  • amaaaazing sounding amp

  • **coughs** 2 grand!!

  • Awesome.

  • Loving the retro video game intro. :D

  • So good to hear Mantra of the Monkey Lord again :) Probably one of my fav of your songs, its just got that GROOOOVE!!!

    Your Primape Pal,

    Tobias

  • @TheEnglishWay1 Ha ha can't please everyone! Stick has been building his studio mate, I am with him in a few weeks with a big announcement ;-)

  • @RobChappers what a gear wanker hahaa

  • @RobChappers oo that sounds exciting :D and ya i agree with lovin jam vids :D but i also do like the casual reviews of simple jamage as well

  • @RobChappers CANT FUCKING WAIT!!!!!!

  • @TheEnglishWay1 I still love the new videos but yeah we need Stick and Chappers jams!!! Would be really nice to see.

  • wow sounds really good and somehow organic
