  • This guy is obviously high as F*ck! but that is indeed one sweet instrument, i must say.

  • For wearing that outfit I am hoping an Orca comes by and chomps that hat off your head from the neck up.

  • its funny... I always thought that the sound in the music the day the earth stood still was made with a hand saw and violin bow...Idid not realise that this technology was invented before the fifties

  • yes love this man, makes me wanna doo shrooms and bug out on this thing

  • Cool and freaky we were just learning about theremins in school today it freaks me out and what's with the outfit? Do theremins detect wind movement or something? I want to learn more about these freaky instruments.

  • @shawnshawngirl I'm wearing a Dashiki...made by my friends mom for me. :) Go to the MOOG website to learn more about the theremin...mine is an Etherwave from MOOG. The instrument responds to body-proximity, not wind or whatnot tho' it looks that way! Thanks for checking it out!

  • @fmbx3

Looks like Gaddafi playin music ;-))

  • Haha, love the 'outro' sound effect...

  • @OreganoOreo

/ indeed, it was spontaneous! ;)

  • can u change the sound to like a synthy sound???

  • All sorts of parameters can be manipulated, if that's what you're asking, so go for it!

  • ok thanks! 1st i have to get enough money for one! how much did u get yours for?

on amazon they r like $400 i think

  • so do u control the knobs to get different sounds? does it have to be hooked up to an amp?

  • Nice dashiki.

  • I just bought mine! I want to run it through every guitar effect I got...

    thanks for the inspiration!

  • Oh, man.....go for it! :) What I like to do is mix random parameters in a "hodgepodge" sort of way.

Be delicate with your hand movements at first....go slow and don't use mixers or efx until you get the theory down. Play with it all you want to at first with efx if you'd like just to have fun. ;) But play it raw for as long as it takes for you to know how to interact with it properly. Trust me.....you'll understand what I'm talking about soon enough! :)

  • thanks for your advices!

I'm going to try and learn how to play it for sure, since I want to take it with me during the concerts of my band.

  • Holy fuck, I want one of those

  • Stand by, buddy! ;)

  • Oh baby, will you put on a beehive wig, a lurid polyester A-line minidress and a pair of white butterfly sunglasses and THEN do that...

  • LOL hahaaha XD

    GREAT FREAK!!

  • whoooo! awesome!

  • Comment removed

  • wouldnt it be freaky if you use two laser gloves while playing the etherwave...... OMG

  • that was awesome! the backwards walk outro was great!

  • That guy was odd... Five stars! * * * * *

  • LOL

  • haha

  • Diggin' the outfit, buddy!

  • Are we going to board Sun Ra's Arkestra?

  • love the end

  • That was awsome. I'm waiting for someone to pull a StarTrek theme on the theremin :P

  • I don't even know what to say. . . . yet for some reason I rated it 5 stars. . .

  • This guy is a bad ass!

  • haha, sound during the bow was hilarious

  • great done, but bad sound on the video (sorry for my bad english xD )

  • Magnífico

  • HAHAHAA LOL

  • acid man hahahahaha

  • What is this - Liberace Meets Theremin?

  • Yup, just wait for him to pull a Thermin out of his ass!

  • I like Aliens and their sounds!!Very nice!!!

  • you are soo cool

  • Forbidden planet

    The soundtrack of the movie.

    Nice fx

  • sounds like it was patched through an Echoplex

  • this outfit is so scifi. akuna matata!

  • how the hell does it work?

  • very cool!!!

  • Reminds me of Starfox Adventures.

  • Brian Wilson/Beach Boys used a Theremin on "Good Vibrations"!

  • sooo cool i want that thingy!

  • lol wtf

  • We want more!!!! We want more!!!

  • What was the effects box brand and what effects were you using (delay obviously) but it sounded like more was in there...

  • It is a "Dimension 3" digital effects sytem (made by DOD). It has about 27 effects which can be combined, mixed with full parameter variation. It's pretty cool and incredibly easy to use.

  • Hey Frank. Nice job. I am thinking of getting a theremin but are they like 1/4" cables like guitars? Because before I get an amp I want to know if I can use my guitar amps and distortion.

  • (Thanks!) Yep, it has standard 1/4" inputs/outputs. You can get more specs directly from MOOG (which is where my own Etherwave came from directly): moogmusic com

  • eeeeeeeeeeeeeeexcellent ,pure forbidden planet/50's sci-fi/chantal meteor/futurism,niiiiiiiiice.

  • Loved the sound you got out of it. Ultracool, beas.

  • What a performance. Very cool!

  • You are the MASTER!! Great stuff......

  • wow, where can I get one!?!

  • It's a MOOG Etherwave that I got from the Moog company in Asheville, NC. You can see it on their website www.moog.com . The efx box was bought elsewhere but those things are easy to find at a shop that sells guitars.

  • Too cool! Looks like fun. :)

  • Thanks, KingBabar....it IS! :) I like your user-name, by the way.

  • It is, of course, from Babar the Elephant. I collect him.

  • HAHA cool. Nice ending, too.

  • That was done spur of the moment. Glad I didn't trip over myself!

  • When I saw that I thought it might have been running backwards. Nice touch.

  • Maybe it was...? ;)

  • I was thinking the same thing, manowar821! :)

  • haha awesome the last sound in response to the simple closing bow

  • Heh. I thought it sounded like I farted. :p

  • Encore! Encore!

  • Thanks! I'll try to get another downloaded soon. ;)

  • Would be coool if you could mix some spacey video into it!

  • Any ideas? I'll take comments from anyone for advice!

  • awesome, mystery dude! tripadelic!

  • Thank you, YALH! :) Matching the theremin with the effects box really DOES make it even more trippy-sounding than it is to begin with.

  • I want one for Xmas!

  • Heh. That's exactly what *I* said one year and, Lo and Behold!, it was under the Christmas Tree! :)

  • No comments? :(

  • Space music!
