Greetings... No kidding about hit or miss on the pickups. I have a Teisco Spectrum and though its playable, those pick-ups are just washed-out sounding. thats definitely a miss! I guess any replacments i get for it will be hit and miss too. Great guitar you got there!
Mine seems to be quite a notch higher in build quality then any other Teisco iv encountered. Most of my frets were gone so i fretted it, plays amazing. Check out my video for Teisco et-460
Do you use standard or open tuning? I´ve been experimenting with open G but it seems hard to get a grip at first... you can get certain real fun blues sounds easily but it´s not very versatile... takes time i guess.
Love that striped aluminum pickguard - my Teisco is more of a Strat copy, but it's got that same red finish and striped pickguard. Definitely a vibe about that guitar.
love these guitars! got a jedson les paul copy(1968?) which apparently was made by teisco for a us company (je davis and sons)which became dallas arbiter who i think were the first to import fenders to the uk! stay kooooooooool
very nice! i found one very similar to this on craigslist for $300 i think im gonna go for ithaha

Isn't this the same guitar from the Rocket music video?
SirAwesomepants 2 years ago
yes, his is blue though
grev21 2 years ago
no, the teisco in the rocket video is a ET-460

James Iha's only has 2 pickups on it, I thought the 460 was the 4 pickup version. I've seen the 2 p/u described as a K2-L or an ET 230.

I really like it. big ol' neck. Not the highest quality made guitar ever but for what it is it's sweet!
And yeah the original fret s are on it. they are wide and short/flat, I like 'em

Yeah, I use standard tuning. I have two guitars set to open E for slide, but that's it aside from a brief DADGAD obsession :)
I may try some open G
Cheers!

DADGAD is awesome for slide. I couldn't imagine sliding in any other tuning.

can you post which model Teisco amp?
Thanks
snotmale 3 years ago
I actually have since found out its a Univox made amp branded RCA Victor. Kinda like a model U42?
3.5 watts or so
I don't really know too much about it.

Ive just bought a 1964 Teisco VN-2 at a junk/flea market for 10 quid (about 15 bucks).
It sounds absolutely amazing.
I usually play a selection of U.S strats, but this Teisco has a unique sound all of its own.
Very thick and bluesy, and I love it.
