I love it when the horse is like "Sorry, there is no way I'm going to jump THAT!" and the rider goes flying over its head. That'll teach them not to dress horses up in ribbons and try to get them to jump over cardboard castles.
2:23 was so depressing, having to watch sapphire tear through that jump again. Maclain actually came out of the ring and said "why didn't i just leave her aone, she knows her job; i got in the way" =]
@CamronTawney im probably being incredibly thick, but wasnt tht andrew nicholson (sp). nd anyone could have seen it coming, the horse was exhausted he did very well to keep her standing up until that point, just a pity she couldnt quite make it to the end, they were so close!

I understand why these horses are falling....THE JUMPS ARE TOO BIG! I love jumping and all......but that is much too high. Can you imagine how hard it must be on those poor horses legs? I understand that they are taken care of outside of the ring.....But the highest I will jump is 3 ft. Not 6ft or 8ft. Jeez.
@PalominoLove LOL the jumps arent too big. the majority of actual falls were from the pentathlon, where only non pro riders compete, they fell as the quality of horses was poor, and the riders were unable to ride them effectively. none of the jumps were 8ft. if the horses where unable to jump the hight they would not jump it. horses are not made of china, it doesnt hurt their legs, why be afraid to do anything with them? they will injure themselves in the field playing and galloping around

The lower showjumping fences were from the pentatholon - which is a circus in it's own right, considering alot of the riders have not met the horses, have not been riding terribly long, and generally only take a weekly lesson compared to riding 6-7 horses every day like most riding pros.
excuse me but it looked like a VERY tough course and these "animals" had flown 1000 of miles to be there, it was probably very offputting, and the XC was in the poruing rein.
think before you speak. and tbh a lot of these were rider faults.
"super-man" jumpers is what we call them(or what my jumping friends call them) and they can be very dangerous if not corrected because instead of the cannon bones(which are of course protected by boots) hitting the rails their hooves go straight into the wall and they will fall just about 100% of the time.

I feel more sorry for the horse than the rider whenever i fall my horse always come back :)

a lot of the bad clips are from the pentathlon, so horse and rider sont exactly know each other very well. the rest are just mistakes

i never saw the olympic horse bits except the Modern Pentathalon which was HYSTERICAL but painful at the same time. Thanks for posting this :)
