Bangalore audience (with whom the duo is very very popular) are still puzzled whether originally the sisters are Hindustani or Carnatic! This is the advantage with singers like,Aruna Sairam,Ranjani Gayathri and Bombay Jayasree who are or were Bombay-based. They know the best of both worlds.

They have tried the drut bandis at the concluding part with swift taan pattersns etc the first half is in carnatic style of Malhar and the drut bit reminds me of megh malhar! I have heard the 3.5 mts long Lata's version which is again out of this world I agree this is an admirable effort!! One should listen to Kishori Amonkar singing the drut of soordaasi malhar and Bhimsen Joshi ji's version ! They are the Seminal works!
