Interesting you say that . Lately I've felt a need to take some time off composing too. It can be healthy. Often too I feel a need to go back to square one, almost relearn the learning, whatever that means.

I feel relearning could be the best thing one could do to bring forth inspiration again. I was so much more motivated to create in my earliest years of composing. Maybe a return to simplicity is needed. Even though my music is relatively simple to many composers!

Simplicity is everything. Mastering the art of economy also reveals your true voice to you. Less is more. There's strength in simplicity.

I stopped composing for many years. I started again by relearning ad rewriting earlier works - I approached them as if someone else had written them and set out to better them. It worked. :)

I've got so much stuff I could approach like that. That's a great idea for getting back into it.

That was very nice indeed, I thoroughly enjoyed listening to it :] I have plenty of childhood photo's, too. What an amazing place the world is, through a child's eyes. If only photos were a 'two-way' affair . . and we could still see the world, as we saw it then, when we looked at these frozen childhod days. :] 5*****

Yes, I wrote the piece after looking at these and other childhood photos. I've got a really clear memory of those times, and when I go back and remember it's like I'm actually there.

Make sure you hold on to those photos of your earliest years. It will certainly help you understand how you shaped into who you are today.
