  • That's the Top Gear test track, isn't it?

  • why does this sound like a GSXR1000?

  • this is the red bull x1 in gt5 lol

  • Is this where I think it is?

  • British car, whoop whoop!

  • thats at the top gear test track

  • WHY F1 cars have high profile of tires???? every sport car has low profile!

  • @Logik426 bridgestone choose the shape and size of tyre, but things will change next season

  • @Logik426 F1 cars have high profile tyres because the teams use the tyres as part of the suspension. Next season there will be low profile tyres on 18 inch wheels.

  • @Logik426 The size of the wheels is strictly limited in f1, the size of the tyre is limited on width but not height. They will have done a shed load of testing and found the profile they use to be the best within the rule limitations.

An ultra low profile trye on a small wheel would not have enough rubber on it and would have problems dissapating heat, too tall a trye would be too flexible.

That said the front tryres are a 55 profile, the rears a bit lower, 45 or so on a bigger, wider rim.

  • This is a dreamcar!!!

  • amaizing car,caparo t1 nice car

  • needs a bigger back wing and more downforce then it would be sweet!!!

  • on a totally non related to cars subject

    nice camera angles

  • German mags using the Top Gear Test track too ?!

  • wow how does it turn left and right i did not see the tyres moving in front

  • The faster a car is moving, the less the wheel actually has to turn. They are actually steering though (obviously). You can see this in any F1 race, just watch a lap around the track as opposed to when they go into the pit lanes.

  • i live near the headquarters of this company

  • Is this car still street legal or did they ban it?

  • no i think its still street legal. i think they will not ban it.

  • @supersonic122286

Well and truley street legal. Its mental 3.5g cornering?!!!!

  • wow, 40 seconds of video without it catching on fire

  • If you watch the full video it dose catch on fire a the end.

  • @BubblesTroubles

Wow a response based purely upon the bile that top gear spews. Its a very very geeky track car. that happens to be road legal as well. Yes plato was unfortunate, but Clarkson cannot drive, particularly a car like this. You drive it like a nob and keep the speed to a level where not enough air is cooling the car and it will certainly catch fire. Its a very very very highly tuned car that requires being driven at high speed all the time to make it work. Its insane

  • @BubblesTroubles These are known to catch on fire?

  • @NebunLaCap That was a faulty sealing component on one of the oil lines. It failed on the prototype. It's fixed.

  • is that a standard model? or do they make them in different models?

  • caparo have a closed and a cabrio model

  • its just a a hat ;b

  • the do two models, one with 575hp and another with 620hp. they also do some kind of convertible like the white one in the vid and one with a full glas roof.

  • electric car? wot is that v8 doing in the back then?

  • @aarondinas electric beats gas....until the battery dies

  • @aarondinas Charging the batteries? xD

  • @aarondinas keeping the car down.. DUH!

  • wow. i guess i'm not the only 1 that nos what a Caparo T1 is. Yay! YAY! YAY!

  • first, this car is designed to be an F1 car for the road, so who gives a crap about the looks. Second, the veyron is the muscle car of supercars, it only looks good going in a stright line. The second it gets near a turn, its terrible.

  • but the handling of this car is poor because of the tire spec and other issues.

  • @babylon2233

No! The handling is immense. Stop listening to clarckson, He cannot drive a car that requires to be driven within its limits of downforce to work. 3.5g on the skidpan. For your record an F40 does about 1.2g and a formula one car on slicks is about 5g. This car is crazy difficult to drive because for it to work you have to drive it crazy crazy fast.

  • @littletrigger You're right, it is a drivers car without all the bells and wistles people expect from other supercar manufacturers. The someone to ask is a real racer or owner of one not some fat assed stump toothed tv host....lmao

  • more like a F3000

  • if u're talking about looks you're lost dude, thats a completely subjective thing, it can be ugly for half of the world and beautyful for the other half and either can't be proven wrong. and that about that best car ever thing im not quite shure the veyron's breakthroughs have already been beaten by some cars like the Aero tt, the 9FF GT9, the Vector WX-8, the koenigsegg CCXR SE etc.

My personal opinion: The veyron looks like a VW Beetle with steroids

    Peace everyone :)

  • thats my family name CAPARO

  • in straight line veyron is a bit faster... don't watch what they declare.

    best time caparo 0-160km/h 5.7

    veyron 5.5 EVOmagazine both

  • its faster 0-100 kmh tho

  • hahaha but what about where it matters on the track

  • Track doesn't really matter one bit in the veyrons case, it's a GT.

  • so the veyron is the fastest gt car??

    no

    round the track??

    no

    top end?

    no

  • What else would you tour Europe in that's faster?

  • legally? any diesel car with a big tank, haha

  • i agree...it goes from zero to 80 and back to zero in 8 seconds thats the fastest car in the world...

  • the Caparo T1 is pure sex in car form :D

  • It has the same lap times as gt3 to gt2 in lemans it was 4 sec slower than lemans prototypes and 21 sec slower on nuremburg than f1

  • huge acceleration+loads of grip=1 hell of a fast car!

  • why does the veyron come up under every car video? i can't even think of any two sports cars that are less similar...

  • British made

(0--60 mph) under 2.5 seconds, that is equal and maybe faster than the veyron depending on the setup

  • It has a way better hp/weight ratio ^^

  • more that twice that of the veyron

  • When under 200mph the Caparo T1 will smoke anything.

  • this car is... crazy...

  • my bad i meant Accelerate!

  • THIS WILL OUT ACCELARTAE A VEYRON FACT! DONT GET IT TWISTED !

the cars in this video are the earlier prototypes (2 seaters) they have since made a lot of engine changes and have relaesd the single seater for sale in uk!

the veyron is a road car you can take on a track this is a track car you can take on the road!

  • And what exactly is ACCELARTAE ?

    Is it a French word?

  • try and take this car on the road, see how far you get before rip of the front wing, this thing would be terrible on the road. the veyron on the other hand has had alot of positive reviews on how good it is on the road

  • don't compare this to the veyron, they are complety different things

  • This car is hardly meant to be driven on the road. They dont expect you to. But when you do it gets 33 mpg.

  • around the nurburgring in nordshlife the caparo t1 would smoke the veryon coz of its weight and handling!!!!!!!

  • i think that street legal is used a bit loosely when referring to this car, but it still looks nice

  • Yeah, but for practicability..... I would be scared to take it on the interstate!

  • I am not hating anything i love this car !

l@@k you say that your dads the designer then good for you ! dont reall care i was just stateing that the figuers you posted dont do it justice! this car is awsome say thanks to your dad for me and rest of the real car fans

  • oh yeah and for anyone hating on this being a legal car McLaren F1 and the Bugatti Veyron are supercars for the ROAD that also perform on the track, the Caparo T1 is a track car that can be driven on the road!!!!!

  • i agree on that one...

  • @ wolfmother4eva you are stupid mate this will smoke a veyron ! and tishtosh if your step dad is the designer you would know that it gets to 60 mph in 2.4 sec on road legal tyres and under 2 sec,s with slicks it can reach 160mph in just over 5 secounds

  • I do know that. But if you think that's done with a small race driver, and when I was in it it was a 6'1" very well built man (designer) and a not-so-small 16 yr old (me), you'll see why the acceleratoin decreased slightly.

And if you really want to quote figures at me, I can up that and show the the complete design of the car if you want, every specification there is to know about the car, even the designs of the prototypes.

    So don't be hating...

  • To be honest, when you've been in it and you're accelerating from 0-60 in about 3 seconds, you're not comparing it to the Veyron.

And I know what I'm talking about because my stepdad is the designer. :D

  • surprisingly the veyron can still accelerate quicker BUT this thing would thrash a veyron on a tight circuit because of its cornering.

  • the veyron can't accelerate quicker.

  • the veyron can accelerate quicker to 60 mph because of the torque the veyron can put out thats what i meant.

  • looks like a f1 car with extra body panels.

  • looks like a very nice oversized go cart

    still amazing

  • yeah go to the supermarket on that toy car!!!

  • that car is danderuos if u dont go fast in it u crash

  • jesus christ ur dumb

  • ;)) :))

  • brilliant lol

  • hahah amagine in a street race first time in japan.. person one Supra, person 2 Evo, person 3 Wrx STI, person 4 Caparo T1.. lol

  • i have rolling race video of t1 vs bugatti

  • u lied dude! why?

  • were

  • dude i saw one of those at the sema car show do u kno how much fuckin downforce those things have if it was goin fast enough in a tunnel it could ride on the top for like 15 seconds u fuckin noobs

  • More like Craparo

  • haha yeah really, when it takes off from the camera car you can see the crapy plastic fenders almost falling off... p.o.s car.

  • Joke? no.....lets c the caparo go round the nurbugring in under 6:55. The thing couldnt go 5 mins without blowing up or the wheels dropping off.

  • The most unreliable supercar ever made...on the tests done by british motoring shows they have always broke down, and on one occasion it exploded....and they expect people to pay £235,000 for one of these.

  • Heard about Jason Plato from channel 5's Fifth Gear got his face burned during a filmed testing; also, Jeremy Clarkson from BBC's Top Gear had the car broken down numerous time during filming.

NOT a good start. Nice concept, but Caparo should check their Quality Assurance Dept.

  • Well, the situation is not hopeless. That's not a good start. But they are delaying this car. They don't have a deadline other than one they set themselves. When they release it, it should be reliable.

And please don't forget, that this is the first car of that kind. It merges high power with a minimalistic low weight low drag design. It's a great challenge to build something like that. ;-)

  • Well for crying out loud haven't you ever read "Theory of the Leisure Class" by Thorstein Veblen? You should, it's hilarious. Veblen mentions lighting a cigar with a $100 bill; this is lighting a cigar with a briefcase full of $100 bills, so no wonder you're apt to get your eyebrows singed!

  • All the cars reviewed so far were prototypes.. show me a reliable prototype.. even the like of Audi, BMW and Merc have issues with Prototypes. That's the point of them, so you can iron out all the problems BEFORE you release them on sale.

  • So true

  • Radical sr8 would kill this thing

  • That's a joke, right?

  • Well it's veeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeery ugly!!! Anyway how much does it cost in Euros?

  • at the end of the day od rather have an f50 than a t1 cos a t1 would feel like an f1 car, you know it has to be cained, but an f50 has a roof and you can cruise it and just laugh at other cars but race it if you want the T1 always reminds me of a superbike with 4 wheels rather than supercar- not my thing

  • its the same thing for me with caterhams- i see them on the road and people always redline them, wheelspin etc but it dont impress me cos i just look at it and think- its tiny! of course its gona be fast off the line, its gona have twitchy handling too. id just rather have a beasty car ive never understood the obsession with these things

  • The Caparo has a removable roof I though?

  • haha if you think an f50 is a good car to cruise around in think again

  • the Bugatti is faster, but is riddled with electronics and turbos (maintanance worry for me), and it prob wont turn that many heads cos i wouldnt say they stand out compared to a ferrari. also you would be left with (possibly) quite a low bank balance

  • hahahah i copyed its style and made me a smaler version of it with a suzuki hayabusa 1300 rk engine lol....dont sue me

  • If that's true. Post it.

  • well ok so add me as friend and in one day you see it or 2

  • looks like a top gear video exept the voice of jeremy

  • Buy this and use it on the road for any distance and all it's gonna say about you is that you've got more Money than Sense.........

  • Lol its a F1 car with number plates!

  • This cars well cooler than Veyrons, Koenigseggs, Zondas etc

  • Wrong. It's 575bhp. 1200 lbs. 10,500 rev limit :-)

  • Wrong about the rev limit...

Tested to rev to 12k reliably. It has been successfully revved to 17k, and has produced 700hp on methanol.

  • fajna rakieta :P:P

  • Jason Plato from fifth gear nearly got fried in this piece!

  • someone said its a pig to get off the line i read it does 0-60 in less than 2.5 seconds, got 1000bhp per tonne top speed of 200mph and it only costs 180 grand which is cheaper than most supercars specially the bugatti which costs nearly 5 times as much even if i was rich id go for one of these anyday over bugatti cos you aint gona get to 240 on any street road

  • whereas your bound to get to 200 :D

  • yes you can lol i know a man that done 200 in the UK on a Hayabusa the T1 is a good novelty car but a bit too "prototype" for my liking id still rather have a ferrari F50- its fast, looks good, has a roof, sounds amazing,is a raw basic car and will turn heads,

  • do you know how we got 70mph speed limit on motorways?

because somw guy went down the M1 in an AC cobra at 180mph :)

  • thats on the top gear track. and me wantey that car =P lots!

  • heres teh specs from mototrend

    550bhp

    1400lbs

    0-60 2.5sec

    0-100 5 sec

    $350,000

2.5 g downforce at high speeds

dont know cornering g's but 1+ easy

  • Nice one, looks fast!

  • looks like formula one

    what are the specs

  • Just a SPACE ROCKET...murray u are a god.

  • gran coche d Murray mis felizitaciones a este artista de las cuatro ruedas.

  • Just a bit over 500kg, rev limiter on the prototype car Steve Sutcliffe drove was 12750rpm i do belive.

  • The Stig from Top Gear drove it on the mountain roads on a clip

  • not to mention about his price ...150 000dollars!!for a F1?? whoot???

  • It starts using a single button, is road legal and covered the 0-100-0 in 7 a and bit seconds, absolutely awesome car. Other then one of autocars reporters no one has driven it except the makers. According to the review it isnt a pig to get off the line and is good to potter around town in.

  • come on guys...a super-lightweight naturally aspirated V8 pumping out an amazing 575HP at a screaming 13500RPM and a curb wight of only 470Kg?! we've got the greatest car ever made on our hands! PS. It was designed by F1 designers. 2 Ex-Mclaren guys actually.

  • Yeah takes as many people to get the engine running too!. I love light, powerful cars, but i think they've tried to go a step too far with this. It's a pig to get off the line and seriously unreliable too.

They should've spent more time refining it instead of rushing a half finished car out just so it can claim records etc.

  • Add 500 bhp and its a formula 1 car :), looks like one too probably because the designers designed F1 cars :)

  • nowadays are f1 cars 500bhp wat r u talkin about

  • what? no. try 900-1000

  • I don't know why this is even an argument, this thing is surely going to rape the atom in every single performance category. Don't get my wrong, the Atom is a foul car, but this is out of its league. It pulls over 3Gs under braking and cornering, generates 800 kg of downforce (pretty sure the Atom produces 0), and has a 3.5L V8 that revs to 10,000+ RPM ftw.

  • he is being stupid

  • Thats tight....think thats the TopGear track

  • Ah and the beauty is it's still street legal... *tear*

  • It sounds like a Hayabusa engine

  • Ya it has an indy-style V8. It does sound a lot like champ car.

  • Any vehicle going over 80 on the highway is pointless. This thing is art in motion, just enjoy it.

  • Sounds/looks more Champ Car World Series to me...

  • bet that will beat the next mclaren f1 in all but top speed

  • In someways it's the 21 first century version of my old favorite the mclaren and it some the men what worked on the f1 work now on this car.

If they will make this work than this will be my favorite supercar and if the they back up what the claim 3 g cornering and so fort.

  • But it is pointless in its expensiveness compared to the ariel atom

  • you can't quit compare this with the atom, the design concepts are different. The atom is minimally designed to give a fun driving experience. While the T1 was made to break track records, and is rather lavish compared the Atom.

  • Lavish? Its anything but. There is nothing to make it worth spending the extra money. An Atom all the way.

  • By lavish i meant by it is made from carbon fiber, expensive light weight alloys and other advanced composites. It also has paddle shift gear change control and i think has traction control. While the atom is much simpler, the chassis made from steel, no traction control, not body panels, its basically a road legal go kart. I personal, like you, would take the atom too over the T1. The T1 is for people who want a hardcore track car.

  • It's less hardcore than the atom

  • How is it less hardcore?????? atom 0-60mph 2.9sec, T1 0-60 2.5sec. Atom top speed ~140mph, T1 200mph. The T1 would kill the atom.

  • You figure fetishist

  • im just using these figures to prove my point. On the other hand, you are stating ur opinion and not backing it up. Like i said before i like the atom more than the T1.

  • If you put caparo power in an atom it would go faster. End of.

  • But would it?

  • Yes, it would

  • NO, it would not, he doesn't wat his taking about.

  • I don't think so. The atoms aerodynamics are inferior to the T1's. Thats why all fast cars, like the mclaren F1, Veyron, Enzo have body panels, they in prove aerodynamics. The flow of air is smoother over cars with panels than cars without them. The atom does not have a great top speed because of this, and nor it will be faster than the T1 even with extra power.

  • acceleration matters more than top speed in the real world

  • The T1 acceleration 0-60 2.5sec while the atoms is 0-60 2.9sec.

The T1 ACCELERATES FASTER than the atom!

  • ACCELERATES FASTER WITH 200 EXTRA BHP! Stop bothering me about this, there are so many more important things to worry about.

  • well if u care so much about acceleration why wont u get a rocket sled, that will beat everything. But it still could not handle better than a semitruck.

  • rocket sled is not road legal, although id happily drive it into walmart

  • LOL, nice

  • thats what it was designed to do

  • I'd like to think it is more than just a finger to mclaren

  • Saweet

  • That sound is amazing! I want one!!!! Find £250,000 any way you can and get one.

  • awesome. :)
