This is the worst tripod I ever owned. Within the first year of purchase, it was sent to Manfrotto twice for fixing. Actually, the second time they wanted me to pay for repairs and shipping. It was the same problem on both occasions, the leg angle levers broke. I told them to keep the darn thing and I used that $50 for a cheap temporary Walmart tripod. Also, for Macro shots, lots of effort needed to adjust the legs so it wouldn’t tip over. This unit looked great on paper, but, I’m now out $200.
the thing to look for ina tripod is good dampening propertys i rekon , ive got 1 of these 190xprob tripods and dont like it the thing virtually bouncers / vibrates when the shutter fires impossible to use with a panoramic head and the 90 degree thing is pointless i feel if ya have a good ballhead its a gimick but if you do try to use it in the 90 degree position becarefull easy to fall over
i went and bought a gitzo instead but it cost 3 times the price
It depends for me, this is good enough. This tripod is quite heavy, so it stands very firm. Depending on your requirements, there are other models... higher and lower models, and of course there are other brands too. Manfrotto is one of the leading tripods... National Geographic is using them :D
Will laugh when I tell you that the best tripod Cost $3780 from Linhof, but if i will buy a tripod,it will be Manfrotto or gitzo Both of them have a very decent tripods and Reasonable prices The most important thing to be looking for in tripod is Weight so carbon fiber is your first choice.
wrong, the most important thing to look for in a tripod is, build quality for sturdiness, weight is only a factor if you are going on long hikes, you need a very sturdy tripod to hold a prosumer dslr, nikon d700, canon 5d etc
Looks good, sounds good,... But will it work?! Lol, jk good review

Mine cracked open - the camlock did - and Manfrotto wouldnt do anything about it. In fact they wouldn't even respond to my emails (6).
