best rpg game of my child hood memory. Never got to finish the game and i was always stuck on the part where your in the mining zone and the only way to get through is to find the bomb
@lebc I know that feel. When I was about 11 or so and in the same situation I got so angry spending hours finding out what to do next, I almost quit as well. Then I finally started talking to NPCs everywhere and finally found them. From that moment on I ALWAYS talked to random NPCs when I passed them. Best part about Wild arms 2 was some of the info you get from the NPCs that make you go on an adventure. Just like gettting Marivel Armitage.
To be honest , PS1 was/is very good. Now on PS3 RPGs everything is about graphics. but on PS1 it w as about gameplay and it was simple. i didnt really care about Graphics.. ps3 was out and i still played 1
@crzyIndiang Yea this one did and idk why but I like the graphics on this one. I know they're are better out there, but this games is the best in my opinon.
god where can i find the version of this song on here like the full instrumental version? i keep finding the japanese version which is fine, but i dont care for it
@CamsEyeView I think it's still called "You'll Never Be Alone" and oh my God there is no contest whatsoever between this and the Japanese version, I am so glad they took the vocals out for the US version because that trumpet adds so much more emotion, and a sense of solitude to the piece. All in all, a great piece of music. I so wish the instrumental was released on the soundtrack.
man this brings back good memories.... games will never be quite as magical as they used to be. even though this wasn't the best rpg it was still pretty cool.
i wish there was an animated film for all the old rpg games which includes rhapsody, suikoden, chrono cross and wild arms instead of making avatar and transformers...
@WilliamRLBaker Do u think they will remake this game? i almost feel i need to learn to program in 3d and make it myself , the fan made wild arms 2 second ingnition. lol.
@boxa888 well they remade 1st one for ps2 it was okay but not great, and since they've pretty much let the franchise die I doubt we'll see a remake of the second.
What sucked is I could never finish this game I got stuck at that puzzle at the underground tower thing. You know the thing that goes to the centre of the planet?
Also this would be an awesome game remade with todays graphics. They could make the game look like the into that would be amazing.
Me and one of my old band mates walked through wall mart with ponchos and sombreros playing this. I played trumpet and he had an acoustic guitar lol. We looked so out of place, but we wanted to have a bit of fun. My all time fav Wild Arms song.
@Maxi88Millian Yeah but hopefully it is better than Alter Code F because that game was a remake of the original which was one of my favourites but damn they screwed up with the remake. I'm just saying that if they are going to make a remake, make it a good one and spend time with it. XD
the wild arms games have a nice western theme it's too bad they haven't made one with a good gun fightin in real time combat engine and the animes aren't releted to the games unfortunately
I like both themes this one and the first one, even though I prefer the first one. The first one also has way better anime than this one. This anime just reminds me too much of... all other anime.
Yes, there was a Wild Arms anime. No, I don't know that I would say it was "really bad". Although, I wouldn't say it was "really good" either... maybe I'll have to dig it out of my collection of bad anime dvds and watch it again to decide. Has nothing to do with any of the games, though, as far as I know.
@Justforvisit I think you are forgetting PC... Baldur's Gate 1 and 2: SoA, Elder Scrolls series, Neverwinter Nights, Fallout 1 and 2, Might and Magic VI, Planescape: Torment, Deus Ex, Diablo, The Witcher, Gothic 1 through 3... Need I say more?
@Blashyrkh22 I played Baldur's Gate 1 & 2, Morrowind, Oblivion, Neverwinter Nights 1 & 2, Fallout 3, Diablo I & II, Gothic 1 & 2 and soon too The Witcher 1 & 2 and believe me:
NOTHING ever reaches the Epicness of SNES & PS1. Ever played Grandia?
@Justforvisit Grandia is a great JRPG, yes. I honestly almost always prefer Western RPGs, though. They tend to have a darker atmosphere and are universally less corny. I suggest you play Fallout 1 and 2; they are far superior to Fallout 3 in storyline. They are fairly cheap on GoG. But yes, there is no doubt that Grandia is indeed up there with Baldur's Gate and Fallout and is vastly superior to Final Fantasy.
This was the best Wild Arms game and one of the best PS1 Games EVER created in my opionon, next to MGS1, LOD, FF and that one other game Square Enix made, it slipped my mind.
This was my 2nd favorite PS1 game of all time (GT2 got 1). Never finished it tough, got up to the second battle with Liz and Ard (those friken fools keep trowin bombs at me, I hate RPG style fighting). I'm savin up to buy it on the PSN store, I'm gonna finish it once and for all.
I wish I still had them, the funny thing is I had wild arms 1,2, 4 and lost them all, I remember the night when I even got this game back then, couldn't wait for it to come out, and stayed up till like 3 oclock playing it on a Friday night when I was a kid.
snap.. what r u waiting for!!! get a ps3.. and play them..lol.. if not there are a few sites where u can download the game to play on ur psp.. i still dont know if i should get them or not.. i have never play them i just heard their good so.. im doing a little research to see if i get the or not.. the only RPG that i have beat multiple times is FF8..
PD: dont tell me that the ps3 is 2 expensive cause its not now.. i bought my 60gb for like alot more than it is now..
I remember the first time I heard this song I actually fell backwards on my ass. It was that amazing.
The best part is the US version gets this because they couldn't translate the Japanese song's lyrics without it sounding terrible, so they just axed the vocals altogether and we get an AWESOME trumpet instead.
Well, at least in Wild Arms 3, the same introduction song is used and in either language, it sounds just lovely, and, despite the fact that two totally different people did the singing to their respective countries, they sound so damn near alike that one begins to wonder if they were related. Speaking of Wild Arms 3, you can find a used copy of it for $5 at your local GameStop or a flea market (but I hope that it is a good one like my local one and I will miss it when I move to California).
I have to admit, even though lyrical versions of songs usually are better, the trumpet alone gives the Japanese version some damn well serious competition. I wish it could be combined into one /ubersong/.
This game rocks so hard. I have to replay it. The scene after taking out the power plant in the desert when the airship shows up... So fucking awesome.
I downloaded this game from the playstation network and I love it. This is one of the coolest intros ever! I also downloaded the first one and its good too.
i never found wild arms 4 or 5 but i have 1 2 3 and alter code F for the systems u probably wont find one or two in stores but u can buy alter code F which is a remake of wild arms 1
Try looking for it at Gamestop, a local video game store, a movie store that is selling its PS2 rental games and accessories, a flea market, swap meet, or Nintendos For Sale, DiggzGunborough. I hope that helps your search out a bit.
The first Wild Arms was so good ! I bought Wild Arms 5 and it was awful! What a joke! With kawaii stupid characterss and poor gameplay. I think i'm gonna get the 2nd Wild Arms but I don't know how yet, it never been released in France... (so wasn't the 4th either)
im sorry if i say someting wrong next but lemme put my two cent on live action: all fail or look weird and nothing like the anime because all the actors dont really look like the character if it were to be a wold arms 2 live action i hope the pick look alike actors
I think that they made a movie out of it in anime form as well as a series, too. Personally, I feel like a live-action series of this and/or Suikoden would be a nice series to make. I am getting SO tired of this boring tweeny-bopper/teeny-bopper and psuedo-reality crap that is on Saturday mornings these days. By the way, is it me or do the Wild arms game not remind you a bit of the comic book and novel series of The Dark Tower and other related books by Stephen King as well as Death Lands?
I've had a copy since the beginning; one of my all time favorites (especially this song)! 7 or 8 years later I'm still playing it (I just finished the first disk for the god-knows-how-manyth time again last night ) =P
I rented this game YEARS ago, played it 4 or so times, and recently purchased it on Amazon, and am currently happily awaiting arrival. :D This game ranks number 2 in my list of rpgs, a list over 50 games long, btw.
I'm proud of myself for STILL having my copy of this game even now, with both discs in near perfect condition (really glad my PS3 is backwards compatible). Who else here has still old games (PS1 era) they still like to play?
I still have all of mine and play them often. I may not have a PS3, but I do have a PS2 that I'm surprised is still alive and a PS emulator on my computer! A great way to relive all of those old memories.
I never, ever got rid of a single game in my life, simply because I knew then that I'd want to play it again, even years from that time. All my disks are in perfect condition, because I'm picky about that. A favorite of mine in the old days? Twisted Metal 1 and 2. Also, I have fond memories of Battle Arena Toshinden.
I still have my old ps1 games and still play most of them even now. I couldn't sell these games, they are all just classics. I am proud to know that I'm the only guy that i know who still owns a copy of Suikoden II.
10 yrs ago, this has been favorite game and series and I want a remake. And brings back memories

I remember buying this when it came out and being obsessed with it.
I always thought that it should be made into a movie!

You know, if done right(unlike most adaptations), I think I would like to see that too. This would be kick ass in live action. IF done right.

God, I remember being obsessed with it too. Almost obsessed as I was w/ FFIX when that first came out.
I still remember WA2 having one of the funnest, yet cheesiest boss battles ever.

AnimeNut101 2 years ago
I still have all of mine and play them often. I may not have a PS3, but I do have a PS2 that I'm surprised is still alive and a PS emulator on my computer! A great way to relive all of those old memories.
mervellious 2 years ago
I never, ever got rid of a single game in my life, simply because I knew then that I'd want to play it again, even years from that time. All my disks are in perfect condition, because I'm picky about that. A favorite of mine in the old days? Twisted Metal 1 and 2. Also, I have fond memories of Battle Arena Toshinden.
antari2012 2 years ago 2
Agree w/ you on all those! Just outta curiosity, what's that #1on your rpg list, antari?
AnimeNut101 2 years ago
mine would be final fantasy VI

I still have my old ps1 games and still play most of them even now. I couldn't sell these games, they are all just classics. I am proud to know that I'm the only guy that i know who still owns a copy of Suikoden II.
