  • Nintendo should had release this on VC instead of the NES version.

  • Mario can do all sorts of crazy tricks in this version. It's makes jump-man look like a completely different character than Mario because jump man can fall to live to tell the tale. :P

  • Wait....you don't die from falling from a high place?

  • Graphically impressive, but the sound is awful. Rythm and pitch are way off. They should have aced the sound with the SID chip at their disposal. Overall a very nice port though.

  • Better than the arcade version!

  • It's VERY good quality, but far from "arcade perfect".

  • very nice!...a middle way from arcade version and nes version. Good

  • Cool, remember when this came out I saw an advert in Commodore User magazine and couldn't believe the graphics - they looked soooo much better than anything on the C64 at that time, and so much like the original! Nice vid, but you could have cut out the rather dull first two minutes as that's not even part of the original loader, it's just the hacked version

  • Is this on cartridge or disk format?

  • Jumpman (Mario) looks like an Italian Popeye.

  • Lol the Princess Look sexy in the start xD

  • @killerfgs What princess?

  • @NESAtariSegaNerd The one behind donkey kong in the ''Intro''

  • @killerfgs That's Pauline, Jumpman (Mario)'s girlfriend. Not Princess Toadstool, Daist, or any of that.

  • @NESAtariSegaNerd Lolz she should be in a other game then x3

  • @killerfgs This game wasn't originally a "Mario" game. Don't argue, It's Paulene.

    It's the truth.

  • @NESAtariSegaNerd Who were the girl in ehm.. fuck can't remember it longer.

  • @killerfgs Super Mario Brothers?

  • @NESAtariSegaNerd Nope it's like a game with mario toy's i can't remember the name..

  • @killerfgs Mario Paint for SNES? Super Mario World 2?

  • @killerfgs

    You're wrong, there's a actually disk version.

  • @Schnitz1

Tape or 5 1/4" disk was both sold for the C64 version yep. Cartridge version is the Atarisoft version not Ocean (different and inferior conversion) :)

  • The level 3 elevator level. Was the cheat trainer used for this longplay?, as he is able to to jump onto the lowest platforms without losing a life.

  • @16plus4equals264 In the beginning, you could choose what settings you want. I am guessing he selected yes.

  • The Amstard CPC version was the best of the Ocean releases.

  • Finally a version that has all 4 levels. (=

  • This is a good conversion. I recall Zzap64! giving it a low mark.Pity they didnt get the idea was to be accurate to the past.

  • The Ocean version actually sucks compared to the years earlier Atarisoft version. Go figure.

  • That's because most of the people coding that version on various formats for Atari had never played the original arcade machine probably ;o)

  • i have the original arcade machine

  • @MadCommodore I know this comment was like a year ago, but actually Coleco made the Atari 2600 port of Donkey Kong. It's quite possible that they sort of made a crummy version for the 2600 to make people want to purchase a Colecovision which came out shortly after and included a much nicer Donkey Kong cartridge.

  • When you play the Atari Soft version on a PAL machine it runs too slow. Which is a shame. You have to speed up your machine to about 120% to have a similar experience to the NTSC machine.
