@BrandNewSongz GOOD! If I find out that anyone out there is making a live action film, I will turn them into a pile of penis ranch dressing! Everyone needs to know that some animated films are not meant to have a live action adaption as animation can provide brilliant and dazzling scenes without the use of expensive CG or live action. In the case of Akira, the scenes are amazingly gaphic and frightening. But hey, we all grow up...

Johnny Yong Bosch use to be the black Power Ranger for quite a while and he almost looks like the sexy wolf guy from Twilight. He, and Stephanie Sheh, who is another anime voice actor and quite the sexy girl, are among the best English anime voice actors out there. They also do quite a number of anime together.

I can't imagine such an iconic figure perishing in such a shitty way, why couldn't he wipe out Neo-Tokyo and destroy the entire planet?!?! Tetsuo doesn't really die, he goes to another dimension with Akira. The espers thought they could bring Akira back someday, they probably could have done the same for Tetsuo. But as they went into the explosion to save Kaneda, it's unknown that any of them can come back now

Although some animes are pulled off great in english, alot of voice actors don't take them seriously and put on voices like its a childrens cartoon. Thats just my opinion anyway

@MilkShott Japanese voice actors are generally really terrible. Their is no variety in terms of the type of voices you hear in their characters. They like to give a lot of their female characters annoyingly high pitched voices. For males, depends on age. They generally give their younger male characters (from teen to young adult), very "pretty boyish" voices, and their older male characters, very bland and over-exaggerated deep voices. There is basically nothing special about japanese actors.

@lifeisgood1013 I know most anime fans swear by watching it in Japanese with english subtitles, but to be quite honest, I can't enjoy it the same way if I do that.

Could be that I grew up watching Akira in english, and I just think they did a fine job on those voices, so I can get into it better.

One example of English > Japanese is in Nausicaa. I see no reason to watch it in Japanese as the English voice actors are amazing.
