What's the name of the first song?.

  • Dear viotec! The name of the song is Salamaat. You can find the name of the song as well as a translation of its lyrics, with further information, either on the video itself or on the right margin of information! Talal

  • That is amazing I know nothing about arabic music but after this i am very interested

  • the arabic music is the mother of all music

  • Don't you think your comment is a bit arrogant? What about the great symphonies of Beethoven and Mozart?

  • Historically speaking he is right.

  • I know that Arabs are very famous for their very beautiful poems, long before Islam, but I'm not sure about music.

  • Hm well okay, I guess you probably had some sort of primitive music during the neolithic era, however Iraq (Mesopotamia) has the first recorded civilazation in history, hence it was the first cultured civilazation to have influence on any succeeding organized society.

The Oud is over 5000 years old!

  • no i dont think so, beethoven and mozart were in the last couples centuries, but arabic music been for almost 1500 years and even more

  • for sure... and we cannot forget the percussion in some songs of mozart... he caught it from arabian countries

  • I have always loved Arabic music!!!:) one of my favorites!!:)

  • Thank´s for your words... radiosuomi.. (this means that music has no borders...)

  • @radiosuomi

    Yes Very beautiful!

  • Still so greattt..! (I got a lot of minus for my last comments... maybe because I wrote little bit too much personal... Anyway I still like this-- and IF ppl don´t like that I like this--it´s their problem) (SHUKRAN for this great music!!!!)

  • And according to my previous comments: now I don´t think of any "special person" when I listen to this... I only like the music...

    Regards

  • Can you please please please send me a link to the original composition??

    Please message.

I have been searching under Al-Atrash's name, but of no avail.

    --Much thanks!

  • arabic music is like a potent drug when foriegners get the hook of it, they are prepetually entoxicated and are arabized for eternity

  • hi jerrrem,

the first song... aahh,.. i am a Turk and know arabic very well. believe me subtitles do not explain even the half.. (sorry because of poor English)

  • I really dont know, why arabic people ara so different. I dont mean different as a negative implication but positive. for example, i dont get what they sayin (only subtitles) however song gave me a huge, extraordinary feeling that i never felt before. Also, religious chapters form holy book, when a guy read that there is sth you feel, maybe i just feel. whenever i turn tv on, somebody tellin a bad story about arabic which i dont get it. howcome you generalize people!

  • i am Turk and i love this sound and song this is perfect. habibi

  • I dedicate that egyptian song to the person I love... (but he is not an arab...but it´s him I think of anyway..only him...)/Turkki sydämessäni

  • Heh...what is that minus for which I got....? I don´t care...I dedicate anyway this song to him...(only if HE don´t like it--I will take back my words..!!) (But I like this melody...as a muscilover I like music from ALL OVER the world...!)(Hello from a finnish girl living in Sweden)

  • it's an Iraqi song not egyptian

  • Oh okey MementoExpose:...(well it doesn´t really matter to me..iraqi or egyptian...I really like that sound anyway...(it´s so soulfull...)

  • The first one is Egyptian!

  • thnx for the video its welll good

  • This first melody...(it´s like I feel inside right now...)(and how I have felt most the time in my life...)

  • This is really very nice particularly the way Marianne manipulate the tune and produce the words perfectly. Well done Marianne this is a very impressive effort. Many thanks to you and to the rest of the group. Good luck

  • beautiful. Wow. Ecstatic and I am an Arabic speaker. Really amazing.

  • Respect to the Maestro and to the sumer group. This should be serve as an ideal for all Arabs: Export Culture, Music and Art instead of violence!

  • This music is so mystifying, haunting, dark, yet beautiful.

  • this guy is cruel, he is giving those viking beauties difficult songs to perform, he should start with easier songs, but they are doing well.
